Most people join clans that are larger than their friends list, you can send a message out to the entire clan, to see if anyone is willing to do certain activities with you, teach raids, etc… its better than finding complete randoms in LFG, cuz the clan members usually have some code of conduct, like no leaving mid-activity or going AFK, or else be kicked from clan. At minimum, you increase your clan rank with Hawthorne and get engrams as well as materials like prisms and shards… for the more dedicated players, you absolutely need clanmates to complete certain triumphs that are required for various titles… like “compete the Kings Fall raid with an entire fireteam of clanmates”.
