I’m going to be honest here, I don’t know. While the non linear story model is interesting and the free updates are a nice thing to. I don’t know what to think of the future of this game, a part of me wants it to continue and reach its full potential but as I see the game now it’s quite literally falling apart. While I will still maybe have some hope but no matter what happens I will always be grateful for this game and what it has achieved. It managed to last 10 years, that is no easy achievement so maybe frontiers can bring hope to us but I won’t say “we are back” so blindly

Everything I've read, heard, & seen, which is a lot, suggests from frontiers onwards content will be much lighter. Bungie will never openly say this, but from leaks, apparent destiny staff numbers, how the restructuring has been done, the planned content loop etc it looks very lightweight & will struggle to hold a player base daily or even weekly, outside the 2 dlc drops which are apparently what was gonna be used as next years episodes, now there's no seasonal story just a season pass track & activity, lasting 6 months each. They could pick up the pace in future but this model is in place until 2027. The elephant in the room is marathon, strong sources suggest is marathon isn't Fortnite 2.0 then bungie are in deep trouble & may even disappear, this obviously would end destiny. There's also an expected staff exodus once the final payments from Sony are processed in the middle of 2026. If marathon flops, it's over, if marathon bangs they could potentially go balls deep into that & drop destiny. The current playerbase wouldnt make destiny profitable & given the steady decline & burned bridges plus the current -blam!- state of the game (bugs & performance) I doubt they'll get any players back. We'll still get content, just less, who knows for how long.
