I’m going to be honest here, I don’t know. While the non linear story model is interesting and the free updates are a nice thing to. I don’t know what to think of the future of this game, a part of me wants it to continue and reach its full potential but as I see the game now it’s quite literally falling apart. While I will still maybe have some hope but no matter what happens I will always be grateful for this game and what it has achieved. It managed to last 10 years, that is no easy achievement so maybe frontiers can bring hope to us but I won’t say “we are back” so blindly

But it most certainly has run its course and I don't expect anything substantial to be done with it. I haven't bought anything since Forsaken (no seasons, no expansions, especially since all of them were free or 0.69$ at some point, lol.) and people tend to forget that Forsaken was basically done by other studios, so the only good thing that came to the game wasn't even done by Bungie. So if Sony isn't willing to lend studios to Bungie again, then no, there most definitely isn't a future for Destiny. It will not be dead, but it doesn't really have a future either. Marathon will be released in a way oversaturated market and will fizzle out in a matter of months. Afterwards, it's either back to Destiny, or Sony pulls the plug on Bungie altogether.
