Please make this seasons (and future seasons) weapons craftable.

I'm not sure what everyone else thinks about having the ability to craft vs. grinding for the godroll. I use to think that crafting had damaged the game and taken out a significant portion of its replayability, but having played salvation onslaught and tomb of elders to try getting the godrolls of each of this seasons weapons, I'm reminded of how utterly painful grinding is in destiny. It's not fun or rewarding gettings tens of one weapon only for most of them to either be the same bad roll or half the roll you're looking for. It makes me not want to bother with them. I know that people have issues with crafting and of course they have every right to. I personally see crafting as more of a progression system, one with trackable progression and a reward at the end for grinding said weapons. I'm given more of a reason to play when I can earn red borders, it's almost like bad luck protection because I can just craft the roll I'm looking for if I can't get one to drop at random. I do think bungie have powercrept all the previous craftable weapons and that is a problem, but I'd rather have that instead of spending hours playing the same activity over and over, and not getting anywhere close to the roll I am searching for.

  • No weapon should be craftable. No other game has that system cause everyone knows it takes away from replay ability. If you’re struggling that’s just part of the game. That’s why it’s called a grind.

      • If you don't want crafting in the game then don't craft stuff. Simple. Well, it's simple to anyone with an ounce of sense.

      • I'm in kind of the same boat. Without any weapon patterns to get, I've had no motivation to play the seasonal activities at all. Relying on rng sucks, and it's why everyone wanted crafting in the first place. The other benefit is that you don't have to clog up your vault with the meager number of decent rolls you're able to get after banging your head against Bungie's rng wall for hundreds of hours. In my opinion, crafting isn't the problem. It's one of the best things they've ever added to the game, and it's very healthy for the game in the long term, because it makes buildcrafting more accessible and reliable. The biggest problem is that Bungie needs to make random loot feel more valuable in a world where crafting exists. For a long time, random loot still had an important place in the game because a lot of the very best legendaries with the most desirable perks were random drops. Remember Heliocentric? It used to be one of the few weapons with heal clip, and it had lots of other nice perks it could roll with as well. The very first rocket sidearm was a random drop too. The OG Onslaught weapons almost all had double damage perks. Random loot could still be valuable with crafting in the game, it's just a question of how Bungie balances things. I also think they need to make random loot upgradeable in some additional way that crafted weapons are not, to set them apart more, and provide the no-lifers with more pursuits to occupy their time.

      • Crafting gave us the boring Bait and Switch, Apex Predator meta... and all the ones like it that followed afterwards. No one minded grinding for "shiny's", or Bygones or Stay Frostys..

      • The issue is and always be the “ godroll “ can and will change. Bungie has always said and always does nerf the strongest outliers aka the meta haha. RNG will always been joke because of that

I agree, mainly for vault reasons. I started final shape with at 300/700 or 400/700 vault spaces. I did a great job cleaning my vault i was so proud (i'm a hoarder...Pantheon has made me more of a hoarder, especially since pantheon 2.0 was announced) Then Final shape introduced 64 Exotic class item rolls PER CLASS (192 class items for all 3 if you collect them all) ...+ random rolled ergo sums with random intrinsic (Aggressive, lightweight, wave frame)... + Raid & world content... Then on top of that in the same release cadence... Echoes brought an additional handful of weapons.... in one release alone takes up like 100-125 vault spaces for 1 character & like 192-255 vault spaces for all 3 classes. When you take into account of random rolled weapons & all kinds of perk combos (damage rotations, Pve, PvP, unique & fun, etc.) You're potentially sitting on 5-7 of the same gun... Crafting alleviates all of this. Its definitely not an exciting loot grind, but the answer is this: -Leave seasonal weapons craftable -Reinvest strike playlist with ALL sunset loot (Past seasons -Past raids that have been removed- Etc) Give them desirable perk combinations this way there's actually a reason to go and get Vanguard Engrams aside from JUST nightfalls. -Allow the old weapons to be focusable at zavalla (Pages of weapons to choose from, since a TON got removed) -STOP RUINING THE STRIKE PLAYLIST The vault space is such a big issue, especially when these guns leave & are never acquirable after the seasonal year ends. Thank god this season's weapons are dogwater. Only had to spend act 1 to get the rolls i was looking for.

      • I don't know why they didn't do the weapons like the previous episode. The new echoes weapons were craftable and the old saint weapons we could focus. That's how it should of been this episode craftable revenant weapons and focusable reprised splicer weapons

I hope they don’t double down on this stance and see that it’s in fact the wrong choice to make. I have played so much of Destiny over the years (have been here since the D1 Alpha), and I currently have been losing interest in farming for god rolls of weapons via Onslaught etc. I have been unable to get a good Bitter/Sweet and several others from this episode despite the tonics. Even Elsie’s Rifle to this day I don’t have a good roll for despite no shortage of attempts. I have likely played a few hundred hours for Revenant at least and haven’t fared well, so think of the people with less free time or who wish to be playing other games occasionally, some of them have little chance of collecting these god roll (or at least a preferred roll) weapons either.

        • The only time crafting was an issue (not a bad one) was craftening weekend, where some posts requested funny guns specifically. Not on my 2014 PS4 but I witnessed the magnificence. Hybrid guns could be the future, but then they’ll have a great time balancing different ammo types in one gun 😆

            • Yes I absolutely agree with this as I feel making guns craftable will make you want to play the activity more to get the desired red border drops.

We could have had it so that weapons were both craftable and their random drops enhanceable with both being incentivized. 🤷‍♂️

            • At this point, it's too late for the current Season. We're getting the final Act of the Season tomorrow, and I'll bet no one feels like going back to grind the other two Seasonal Activities at this point. All we can do is hope that Bungie didn't preemptively do the same with next Season's weapons. Though knowing Bungie, I think we all know the answer to that.

            • The thing with crafting is, you still have to play the content/ grind to get the weapons and unlock the patterns. You also have to grind to level the weapon up, and or get the material to level the weapon up directly. IMO, crafting is a good thing, since it lets players choose what perks to add to your weapon. Like another user said, Bungie is always going to try and change the Meta. Therefore, you will always have some grind to get/ unlock new weapons to craft.

Any website that shows how much time all players dedicated to seasonal activities this season? And did you guys notice the players who were supporting RNG chase are nowhere to be seen in this forum? Looks like they left hurriedly when player count dropped during the dawning 😂 When new content is added they will come to this forum again to preach their knowledge

            • All weapons should be available and craftable . The drive to play the game should be the content period. not the weapons . bungie has it wrong . If you give players options to craft and easily obtain all weapons ,wouldn't you think they would want to try them out in the content . cool armor sets and ships would be a much better reward then another weapon you throw on the ever growing pile. running harder content with the guns you craft ,trying new things keeps players . not grinding and burning out ,having zero fun.

            • Don't count on it. The big content creators hate crafting and are on bungies side of not respecting our time. That's the people they fly in to give advice. They also probably love Pete's car collection.

            • Bungo wants you to waste time trying to get a "god" roll of the new episodic weapons (most have bad perks that are overshadowed). Then they were "surprised" by the fact people uncovered weightgate, bungo intended for it to be that way, they wanted the loot to be awful for you to keep farming over and over. Everything they have at the moment is to boost player numbers, mostly in an artificial way.
