I was at the final encounter on the exotic mission and the game decided to dc me (MY INTERNET IS FINE, I’m on a wired connection). Now I have to do it all over again. Are checkpoints really that inconvenient to make? Why are we stepping away from a basic video game feature?

Here`s a better idea: Dont play this garbage game.your life will be 100 times better, the amount of stress/annoyance this game gives is crazy. talking from experience
-
Because then we would escape the tedious ingredient farm by checkpoint farming the final boss which would not increase those all important play time metrics.
-
Having no checkpoints is another bright idea to make content "harder"

Edited by nonchalantone: 1/7/2025 8:05:14 PMGotta keep that player count up. They know what they're doing. And it sucks. Longer you stay online, better it looks....for them. Just as much as Eido "disappearing" when talking to her on the Holoprojector! But then "reappearing" as soon as we stop talking to her! Just ridiculous at this point. Literally right beside her workstation where she WORKS......

I got to the first encounter and quit. Tired of the teleporting enemies, invisibility and constant mines dropping. Check points would be nice but a more creative interaction instead of the same old encounters would be nice.
-
Bungie and some players out there: But that would make the game to easy. We want tedious, annoying gameplay.

Edited by Lady freya calix: 1/8/2025 12:42:04 AMAt least you can finish the bloody mission,It's glitched for me at the final encounter for the diffusion version,I kill all the scorn and jump in the mirror and kill everything to get the resonance and then fikrul shows and i beat him like a bongo drum ,Then i jump back through the mirror to repeat and rinse ,Once again burn down everything in my way but fikrul does'nt do his attack so i can't shatter the mirror again,What do i do?

Checkpoints are never going to happen, but give it about two weeks and they’ll remove the darkness zones from the boss fights when they see that only about 8% of the player base have actually progressed the season beyond the Exotic mission.
-
It's not enough that they 'try' to make us run the exotic missions 4 times now a days just to give us what it should have dropped with on the first run. But they make it so we have to run 2-3x as much for those 4 runs thanks to their crappy servers. Granted I've suffered with them since D1 launched but I no longer give a damn. Haven't finished the last season not sure I'll play this seasons content for a gun I probably won't use after the first day of getting it, if I get it.

At least this one isn't long, front to back ignoring dialogue is only about 20 mins even solo
-
That or tone down the number of encounters. Three boss fights? Four if you count the Trickster? There are Raids that don't even have that many encounters.

Because exotic missions have never had checkpoints -
Checkpoints have been an issue almost since day one in Destiny. Bungie are against anything that gives players control so do not hold your breath. Lack of them does not acknowledge real life where you have to leave for a legitimate purpose and cannot save your progress. Yet another reason for not playing, not prepared to put up with this sort of crap so my time is limited now, it seems the rest of the player base has similar issues and must contribute to the low number of people playing.
