These Devs... and Bungie Ceos

Whose idea was it to make a raid this hard on the END of destiny 2 life circle. Just insane people everwhere. Who couldn't see the death of destiny 2 coming from a mile away. You just can't do it with lfgs. At least the other raids were a little bit more simple and you could brute force it but salvations edge. Holy man, this is just insanity. You ppl dumb. So dumb. Crazy that you thought this would work for the next YEAR.

  • I falwessed all the current raids with LFG teams. You just need to be selective with who you invite. But trying to accomplish that now would be difficult. LFG is drier than the Sahara.

    • I believe this is why they are revamping their difficulty system So then players can acclimate themselves to the puzzles on easier difficulties - and then try it again on the harder difficulties once they have a better grasp

Raids are starting to have the same issues as trials with a dying playerbase. Lfg takes forever, building teams is just a chore because you have to look at everyone’s rr, and all the no lifers already got their loot and don’t touch the raid anymore killing the population even further. Another issue is difficulty comes at the cost of replay ability. In a game that requires you to run activities over and over again difficulty just makes you want to run it once and be done since it’s such a slog instead of fun. SE did that to me I ran my one run now only do witness cps. Especially since teaching takes forever. I used to love Sherpaing people but SE destroyed that joy due to how complex and long it is. I will Sherpa but not when I have to do it longer than my 8 hour work day. That’s why I dislike hard content because building a team is a chore, and it makes the grind a slog and tedious instead of fun. People will tell me I’m just being dramatic but that’s the reality of difficult content it just makes things a chore and not everyone is going to like it.

    • Encounter 4 is the hardest to explain to someone who hasn’t watched a guide… outside of that the raid is very easy to teach. With that said- this raid is more difficult for LFGs bc there are less adclear only spots and people actually have to know what they’re doing

      • Encounter 1,2,3,5 are arguably on par with other raids in difficulty only 4 is above but even then once the community started figuring out how it worked it became pretty easy.

Salvation's Edge is my favorite raid that i don't get to do. I only LFG for 1st & Witness encounter... It makes sense why the raid is so hard, this isn't some strike boss or some puny dreg. We are literally going up against the "End of the Universe" and the one perpetrating it. The encounters are fun & engaging, LOTS of multitasking and working together, super fast paced. No room for error (almost). LFG is the main culprit here, a lot of people don't want to learn mechanics, some people don't care and will talk over you while you teach. It gets worse the more complicated the raid.... (as someone who babysits/handholds people through the encounter giving them hands on practice, Salvations Edge has many parts where it is very difficult to do that... Each person needs to be competent and capable and learn quick unfortunately...) Raid experiences:
Rhulk encounter nobody knows symbols even with dual destiny being out. Its hard to have people know callouts, and do something as simple as step on a plate and off a plate when you have/lose a buff. Crown of Sorrow: Nobody would pay attention to their timer to swap buffs. The parkour section on LFG was not great either. Scourge of the Past: a lot of people would screw up the CAP alignment during damage phase, (Ie: get a buff, "c" "a" or "p"...Stand next to the same player...if you don't less damage & damages nearby players...) Crota's end is straight forward but Ir Yut in particular LFG's struggle against. Garden of Salvation: Super easy, but people do not work together & raid is SUPER buggy. Shame since its my favorite raid. Root of Nightmares started the trend of I don't have to learn anything and people will do it for me...This is just a beginner level raid. VoG: People struggle on Gatekeeper & Atheon...People do not call out oracles or shoot them..., people do not know how to juggle relic/ do not want to & struggle staying alive in the portal room... (valid)
All of these issues in the spoiler section contribute to how LFG has been over the years... and why a raid LIKE salvations edge is so unapproachable for casual LFG players. Instead of 1 mechanic its 2-3 all at once. instead of 1-3 jobs you have 6 or 7 jobs to do within the mechanic. If its a regularly occurring pattern where people aren't able to swap buffs or stand in the right location at the right time or make callouts over the years... then yea you're gonna experience this so much more in the hardest raid in the game.

      • It was for the vets that's why :v, lots of vets liked it due to how diff it was (And well raids are end game content so I don't really mind there being a learning curve, instead of just the usual gambit dunk, or shoot stuff on wall)

      • Someone tried explaining the Verity encounter to me, and it was like watching Troy McClure's "Half-Assed Approach to Foundation Repair".

      • Eh... idk man. I get the frustration, but raid wasn't that hard compared to others I guess. 4th encounter is/was kinda hard to explain in the beginning and the timer on the top of the screen makes you anxious.
