Firstly, let me say, that I have loved Destiny 2 since I was gifted a copy of Forsaken. Have really enjoyed the graphics, scenery and music and of course, the story.
However, I am an older player who was never in to pvp, pve games prior to being gifted that Forsaken. I am not really interested in becoming an Elite player such a Esoterickk, Kackis, and numerous others. I just love playing. But, I did really enjoy being able to feel accomplished while playing. Such as , finishing the weekly challenges, being able to finish and receive the seasonal seals, etc.
Unfortunately, I can no longer do that. Everything is being geared to the Elite, right down to the weekly challenges. It is all legend this, master that and grand master everything else. The story line has become more legend or higher to get done. I am not liking this at all. What happened to us lesser players being able to play. The Elite have raids, dungeons, legend/master/grand master stuff, Trials of Osiris, etc. You would have thought the storyline and the weekly challenges could have been left for ppl like me to be able to play and feel that same accomplishment of the gameplay. Not EVERYTHING should be that HARD.
I love Destiny 2 so much, I actually spent the money on the deluxe edition for the game and I wanted the Tower. However, I have found myself not enjoying the game as much, playing the game much less (which I was playing everyday so many hours) and wishing that I had NOT spent that money that I really couldn't afford.

What are you talking about? PvE in Destiny is barely a challenge. And I’m not claiming to be some PvE god! But soloing? Sure, that’s where it gets spicy. In a fireteam of three, though? You might as well let your abilities and auto-targeting weapons handle the work. Between room-clearing explosions and tracking projectiles, the game practically plays itself. So again, what are you talking about? The endless whining about how “hard” this game is feels like people allergic to putting in effort. It’s like saying we should turn basketball into patty-cake because Timmy can’t dribble. Is that really the bar now? The problem isn’t difficulty—it’s the lack of engaging mechanics. Remember the Shield Brothers strike? You actually had to think—plan how to bring those bosses together to drop their shields. Now? Every encounter boils down to "stand here, grab buff, shoot shield." Rinse and repeat. It’s not a challenge; it’s a checklist. And catering to casuals? That’s a barrel without a floor. Bungie keeps trying to please everyone, and in doing so, they’re driving everyone away. It has to be the gameplay that keeps us coming back—not some shiny new subclass, game-breaking weapon, or flavor-of-the-week ability. But that’s what the weekend warriors need: quick fixes, low effort, and high reward. Bungie needs to decide who this game is for because right now, the middle-ground policies are killing it. It’s not for the casual mentality of “low effort, but I want it all.” That mindset ruins the game for players who actually want to earn their progress. And don’t even get me started on PvP. You cry about getting stomped in PvP but want PvP acolytes to roll over for you like PvE NPCs. It’s ridiculous. If you want everything handed to you, fine—but don’t expect the rest of us to stick around for a game designed to reward mediocrity. Destiny thrives on challenge, mastery, and growth—not participation trophies.
