no space wizards or famous bounty hunters or even mandalorians. no 2 types of stormtroopers and a guard

I'm tired of Bungie bringing other franchises into the world of Destiny. It cheapens it and ruins the vibe of the world that was originally created, IMO. I love Star Wars (the original 3 from the 70's and 80's, none of the new crap or the CGI'd monstrosities). Street Fighter was cool. I used to play it in the arcades all the time. I just dated myself, I know. And I used to pretend I was a Ghostbuster when I was a kid. All those things are cool. So it's nothing against them. But seeing those things inserted into Destiny has felt really cheap and like they don't belong. I haven't and won't buy any of those things nor do I want them for my Guardian. Those are things, to me, that have been lost to time after the Collapse. So no one would likely know what they are. And, even if some hints of those things survived in archives buried somewhere, none of it would be things Guardians would have armor or ships made of. I really wish Bungie'd just stop with that and start creating armor, sparrows, and ships that feel like they belong in the world they created.

It's getting quite impressive how this community can complain about anything. Well done guardian.
-
100% bungie move to blow such an easy win. Worse than assasins creed fumble
-
700+ employees who are paid well. Anyone defending Bungie at this point is dense af.
-
I like the Storm trooper and the Royal guard but warlocks should've been a sith lord though as it would've fit well with stormtrance and hunters should've been Darth Vader because that would've been so cool🙂
no space wizards or famous bounty hunters or even mandalorians. no 2 types of stormtroopers and a guard
No I thought the same thing. The stormtrooper armor is cool. I can see the difficultly of using hero’s as they don’t have mask or helmets, they shouldve had Boba Fett for hunters, Sidous for Warlocks and Vader for Titans (add cape to the helmet).
-
I think they avoided bounty hunter because if Hunter got it and no one else then everyone would be mad. I bet you this will not be the last star wars crossover and we will get a mandalorian themed one (everyone gets bounty hunter armour) when the Mandalorian film is being released.

Edited by Kiro - 13: 1/30/2025 6:36:38 AMThe fact the hunter set was not Mandalorian & the warlock set was not Jedi is a heinous crime. Storm Trooper for titan is on point though. This is what happens when corporate values take over a studio. The Bungie leadership and management are no longer driven and enthusiastic fans of the industry. Further more the company is being hallowed out while literally adopting the mantra "Over-delivery is bad.".

Troopers do be the only basic wearers of full body armor on mass (and in basic design) so it fits the Bungie way. Royal guards are Palpatine adjacent so that makes some sense
-
I don't mind that all the armor belong to one faction. Mabye in acts 2 and 3 they'll add more and I'd be okay with that. I also don't begrudge them for choosing actual armor over clothing from the star wars universe.
-
That’s because we’re talking about two franchises run by ppl that don’t listen to their audience, both are dying fast because of it.
-
No, I agree with you. I think they're super low effort as well. Titan being just a Storm Trooper is beyond lame.
-
Edited by LikwiD_SmOkE22: 1/30/2025 5:34:08 AMTBF the royal guard w the robes is fitting for warlocks. Death troopers work for hunters.. they are just imperial bounty hunters Storm trooper .. they could've gone with something else for titan. It would've been hysterical to me if they chose gamorrean armor.
-
Still think they need to do either Monster Hunter or 40k. 40k: - Space Marine Titan (unavoidable) - Cadians Hunter (with a balaclava like flamethrower units have instead of a cloak) - AdMech Warlocks Monster Hunter: - Titan based on the Rathalos armor - Warlock based on Espinas (the Sunbreak version) - Unfortunately, can't really think of any armor that'd be good on a Hunter, other than just base starting sets. Open to thoughts.

Edited by Andy: 1/30/2025 2:31:51 AMAm i the only one that wonders how much of the development budget that could have gone into fixing the game was blown on licensing that from disney. Guess they believe they will get it back in eververse sales.
-
If it's available for Silver only then the armor is a hard pass no matter how it looks.
-
Could of received a sith robe for warlocks but good things can be close to none existent
-
Ok: Warlock: should have been the Witches of Darthomir Hunter: a Mandalorian Bounty Hunter. Titan: Shadow Trooper or Clone Trooper
-
I think just the idea of Star Wars in destiny is lame not just the ones they picked this isn’t fortnite soon we going to be like cod and have Nikki Minaj skins like my god these collabs have been mostly dumb
-
Huge miss NOT giving us three Mandalorian variations.
-
Because the armor wasn't designed for Star Wars fans, it was designed for people with a passing interest in Modern Star Wars Media. You're supposed to point at it, mouth agape, staring into your phone, with a crazy caption like a soy-filled consumer. My less cynical reasoning is that Bungie couldn't afford anything other than mono-colored faceless soldiers.
-
I don't like the idea of collabs in D2 in general. With so much lore and storytelling, it has it's own identity and watering it down with cheap cash grabs by appealing to fans of other games is just tasteless.
-
I think the choice was good, until they are ruinned by the exotic piece.
-
I was excited until I saw that the Crimson Guard armor for the warlock looks awful. As per usual bungie sucks at making warlock fashion. Yeah not impressed.
-
They need to start releasing an exotic ornament that can pair with these sets. Don’t care which exotic, I’ll use whatever, but I hate put an exotic on a cool set and it looks stupid.
-
And you'll be one of the people who still buys it.
