Drifter is in trouble.
That recording he left and the emphasis on the haul staying and not to worry about him was ominous and seems like foreshadowing. Would Bungie kill off Drifter to slowly phase Gambit out the game? 😬

Funny how the NPC with the least played game mode gets some of the most dialogue in the seasons. Meanwhile Shaxx is just sitting there, being Shaxx. Maybe it’s a meta commentary that Drifter isn’t as busy as Shaxx haha

Personally, I super excited to see what he brings forth. There are two options. 1, he finally gets the Nine involved (tying into whatever is going with the dungeons and whatnot.) 2, we see the return of the Original Exotic Swords, or at least an Exotic that is the spiritual successor of said swords (excluding of course Ergo Sum witch is technically the Spiritual Successor of these Swords). This of course being Razelighter, Darkdrinker, and Boltcaster respectively.

They already said Gambit was eventually going. The Drifter is like a Canary for oblivion... if he's in trouble, we're all in trouble.
