I just focused 4 Swarmers, 8 Shards, 240k glimmer, high mobility, even stats, high recovery, all while I’m focusing discipline. Not one decent roll, not God roll, just usable. Not, one. This is the perfect example of the scummy nature of the Bungie business model. Thank the devs who made the gameplay so much fun, otherwise this game would’ve been dead a long time ago.

You’re just upset. Focus a few more times, you’ll get your roll and calm down You literally know what you’re signing up for. You are not guaranteed a god roll whatsoever. Also if you’re focusing that many rolls, you can afford it. For end game players, I find myself rolling just because I have to get rid of cyphers, shards, engrams, and allow. No one with limited materials is rolling 4 times

I complained about this a long time ago when focusing first came out. The focus screen says "focusing with a high ------- stat due to equipped ghost mod." Unfortunately, it either gives you exactly 10 in that stat and the actual spike is something completely different, or it fails to focus your chosen stat at all. I've focused Recovery and the armor pieced rolled with less than 10 Recovery before. Sadly, my only roll of an exotic was on par with the garbage you get from collections, and after focusing upwards of 10 times, I had to keep that roll over what Rahool gave me. Eventually, I did get a god roll from him. The best advice I can give is either keep farming those materials and pray to RNG, or just don't focus at all. No ghost mod, just pick the armor piece, and hope for the best. Don't give up and you'll eventually get it, one way or another.

Never focus. I just let it be. I will compare any drop with my current one. Better, keep and delete the old copy. Otherwise, just delete. Too many exotic gear, vault is precious. Use the one you have if you must. Once you fully masterwork, the chance the next copy would best it is high. That is my experience anyway.

Yea I took one look at that and thought to myself, this is a definite materials grab by Bungie to sucker in the “hoarders” of the games economy. There’s a couple ways they are doing this. I do t participate in either one.

Edited by Auronio: 3/23/2025 3:34:32 PMThat's why I never use it. Just decrypt engrams, it's the best way to get both high stats and sooner or later a decent roll of your desired one. Less stress, more efficient and satisfying.
-
Also noticed that if you focus a 2020 engram you get 2010 piece. that's just wrong
-
I’ve gotten some killer rolls through focusing personally.
-
I tried focusing once, then I took an arrow to the knee.
-
Don’t waste your time getting frustrated, in frontiers our current armor will become obsolete. Gameplays gonna change, hopefully for the better.

It's a gamble. Just like "focusing" anything else. My problem with "buildcrafting" or whatever made up term you want to call it is you need certain stats to buff certain traits on armor AND guns.. So you go over to this slot machine and roll for armor, then you go to this other slot machine and roll for guns. It's a self licking ice cream cone. Now you have an artifact and a mini artifact you have to feed. I remember when you could just "play the game" without 10 layers of nonsense.

The stat mod you put into your Ghost will only affect the stats in that side's allocation. You get a minimum of 10 Discipline, out of the maximum 34 points that are allocated to Discipline, Intellect and Strength. The stat rolls for Mobility, Resilience and Recovery aren't affected at all, and vice versa when using one of those three mods. This is why, when going for triple 100 setups, it's ideal to focus the stat that is the only one of its group, because the other stats are more likely to be useful.

With the armor rework coming soon don't expect any changes to armor.... everyone will need to replace everything then anyway... no need to stress till after the rework...
-
Sounds about right.

I noticed this too. It’s extremely painful trying to get a roll that you’re heavily focusing, and end up getting something that’s not even remotely close. This definitely needs to be addressed.
-
yeah, i used to focus things like that. found it's not worth it. now i just play the RNG 'here rahool, what is it?' game. LOL
-
Yeah, no sht. That was apparent when they started leaning into it a few years ago.
-
Rahool is a crook, end of. 🤬
-
I always get cracked mobility stats regardless of what I’m focusing on my Titan. Agreed. Waste of resources.
-
I've noticed the same thing. Whatever you are focusing on your ghost you get maybe 12 stats in but then you get spikey in the worst stat. It is ridiculous.
-
This is 100% accurate. Farming lost sectors provided much better rolls. You actually have a better chance just decoding them now. This seems to be the same with any vendor.
-
I usually just pick the exotic and do random vs focus.

Only thing is what else are you gonna with mats you are permanently capped on? There is no economy when you have to break stuff down from max stacks or MW 48 stat collection rolls just to keep any mat drops.
