I'll keep it short, lol.
We're being manipulated again.
We know enough about how this stuff works.
Otherwise, we won and achieved our goal at the outset of Heresy, which was?
It was to stop Xivu from pulling us into the ascendant plane and to prevent Oryx's release.
Not resurrection, Oryx is already in prison. When a taken 'dies'... they don't. They get banished to pocket spaces in the Sea of Screams. Oryx was the Taken King.
So, all we had to do to ensure Xivu failed was claim the Echo.
But we didn't. We didn't bind Oryx, we captured the Subjugator carrying the Echo. Edit: In review it is unclear whether we captured the Subjugator or if it escaped.
I guess you might call that "control" over the Echo, but we didn't claim it. For that we needed to kill the Subjugator and take the Echo... like Fikrul, liked we failed to do with the Conductor.
Eris doesn't want the Vanguard to claim the Echo.
You can't imprison a memory, Oryx is IN Prison... if claiming the Echo prevents his release, it doesn't btw... but even if it did, we didn't take it.
What do we know?
We know the Taken and 'Dread' have a new master. What's a subjugator? If Eris rose to the top of the Hive pantheon through our rituals... wouldn't she have an idea who it might be?
Maybe the Dread aren't the only ones. Or Maybe... Eris never was on our side.
What did the eyes say?
Why did Savathun laugh at us? Edit: It was probably Eris laughing... I confused the two. That's on me?
If we just WON. We obviously didn't. The turn is coming. It's called a "false peak" and is a common trope of 3 ACT structures of literature.
Sometimes, it starts a composition... like the "Red Wedding".
The conflict is over... yay, I'm wiki-Bear 🐻... yay! Forget the fact that we aligned the ley lines connecting these prisons yay!
Or the fact that we acquired a bunch of keys to unlock these prisons... yay!
Or that we spent an entire season invocating the darkness upon the relics/body parts of Oryx while Xivu laughed at us saying we were pawns, YAY!
I'm wiki-Bear 🐻... Yay!
😇👍💠
Edit: I added some 'edits' to be as honest in my analysis as possible.
The lines connecting the dots:
When we killed Oryx he was banished to a pocket of space, a prison within the Sea of Screams.
We connected the Ley Lines or paths to these spaces.
We acquired a bunch of Amhakara eggs that are used to create gateways, are keys to these pockets of space within the Ascendant Realm.
The Gardener needs an army...
Generals... like Quria, Raven, & Oryx who are all imprisoned in the Sea of Screams.
"The Taken King WILL rise again", Savathun... one of the possible truths in her riddle at the Altar of Reflections.

Sorry, I don't want to make a post, and kinda just wanted to jot my brain rot... ~or some spiritual inspiration~ ((Dunno)) Strand is like a constant moment of existence... Something is there and isn't... Any given moment we can bring forth a memory of an instance of time, and place it, else where, else when... Essentially, it always is and will be, in some form of existence, present... We can bring it, to a spot from different planes of time and dimensions... ((Ghosts discuss this)) To where it needs to be... To when it needs to be... Feel like JDH said something like that...
Eris doesn't want the Vanguard to claim the Echo. Eris never was on our side
"When we question the motives of others, we only reveal our own"-Mara Sov,Queen Of The Awoken" And that sums you up perfectly, you question everything, because you want there to be a conspiracy , you want good characters to secretly be evil Nothing wrong with that though -
What would a universal constant like the gardener need an army for ??

You make an excellent point but I would like to point out that the echo Oryx and the actual Oryx are definitively two separate entities. The echoes Oryx is a composite of the witness’s impressions, memories and thoughts about Oryx, not actually Oryx. Based off the echoes observed interactions with Xivu and Savathün it is quite clear that the echo and the taken king are not identical to one another. 1. When confronted with a potential trick of Savathün’s instead of attempting to explore and unravel it, the echo had a temper tantrum. 2. Oryx was completely unaware of and unfazed by the fact he had a son, Crota, and he died. If anything the echo was frustrated that his “son” was a failure in the lenses of sword logic and therefore not worth recalling. Although I agree that this was too easy and is completely suspect, traps, Illusions and lies are not Oryx’s MO and therefore not a play the echo would make. So, if it is a trap or trick it’s only because Savathün or whoever is behind the dread planed it.

Oh brother now we’re starting the Eris Morn is evil since you can’t figure out a way to connect Mara Sov to this story line 💀.

At least have some consistency with this theory because Taken have themselves and their bodies banished to the ascendant plane. Oryx "died" in Regicide and did the same thing taken do when they die is get banished to the ascendant plane since he had a throne world he was tied to that and when he died there... he died for good.
But we didn't. We didn't bind Oryx, we captured the Subjugator carrying the Echo.
Maybe the Dread aren't the only ones. Or Maybe... Eris never was on our side.
"Eris is actually le evil this whole time!" That is the most stupid thing I've ever heard.
The Gardener needs an army... Generals... like Quria, Raven, & Oryx who are all imprisoned in the Sea of Screams.
Huh?

Overall, it wasn't exciting in the slightest. The whole protagonists capture the antagonist because they wanted to be captured is a trope that has been done to death.

As a certain Vulcan might say - ‘Fascinating!?’🖖 Lore (mostly) goes whoooosh! over this old tortoise’s noggin…though it is appreciated when knowledgeable folk share their thoughts! 🤔 And I do have the ‘Lore’ Seal, too! 👻 That is all. Ease Springs! 🫡 MDGA

Need to bring back Io to explain [EYE]s some more... ((Not just explaining what parts of the eye do, and how a computer language would need it to be explained, and developed)) //Purpose behind the understanding// ~then the purpose behind that~ They ask for an Eldritch horror... They ask for a cosmic horror... If they truly understood the terrifying nature of their consciousness... My cult is going to bring the horror... Shatter the false reality... Take them from their safe 'civilization'... And walk them to the edge of oblivion... Themselves being nothing but a small etch of an eternity we claim through a fundamental logic... Trapped a horror, and became the horror.... Last exit, final destination...
