On Destiny 2 alone, I routinely encounter the following scenarios whenever I dare to play with any of my friends:
- join fireteam, start any activity
- will at random receive “Contacting Destiny 2 Servers” followed by intense latency issues such as teleporting players, enemies, killed foes reappearing at full health, enemies no longer targeting me, unable to respawn/revive etc
- the “Baboon” error code followed by the “Weasel” error code
- then being completely unable to reboot the game unless a full disconnect and reconnect of the internet takes place on the console. The title screen will simply sit on either “connecting” or signing in” until it times out
This happens regardless of the connection method, WiFi or Ethernet. Every single other game I play runs with zero connection/network issues. These issues happen exclusively on Destiny 2, and only ever if I’m playing with friends in the same fireteam. Playing solo I encounter none of these issues, including when matchmaking with randoms in PvP or strikes etc.
Can anyone offer insight as to what is happening? And if so, how to remedy it?
It is reaching the point where I cannot play with friends at all, which is the main reason I play D2 to begin with.

Hello there, Thank you very much for reaching out to us. I'm sorry to hear that you are having various network issues in the game. While it sounds like you've done some troubleshooting on your own, we recommend following our Network Troubleshooting Guide. As some of these errors sound like they may come from playing with others and may be port or NAT-related, we also encourage you to go over our UPnP and Port Forwarding Guide. When handling the UPnP and Port Forwarding, please use each method separately. These two methods should not be used at the same time.
