Raneiks Unified Rebalance season Episode 3: Heresy, Act 2

I really think that we need to consider a full rework or some kind of rebalance of the Raneiks fight in the Vespers Host dungeon. I am a returning player to the game after about a year away and I'm having a great time playing catchup; however in my efforts so solo flawless the Vespers host dungeon I am getting increasingly more frustrated with Raneiks more than anything else in the rest of the game. I have done extensive research on how I can make this fight more tolerable but to no avail. An average kill time for me on hunter is around 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the boss movement RNG. I get that solo flawless is a challenge but there is no challenge in the fight just mindless mechanics and the worst damage phase in the game. I have tried 40 different methods and the highest dmg I was able to get was RDM and Warcliffcoil at 1.8 million, with a health bar of around 15 million this just seems like an absured number especially when getting a dmg phase takes 5 - 8 min also depending on spawn RNG with you captains. Now, I understand there were some problems with ignitions that could phase the boss. However, if you are going to reduce the total number of bosses from 10 to 6, why would we not rebalance the HP accordingly? In my personal opinion, this boss is one of the worst in the games history and as much as I want to increase my odds at getting ice breaker I don't know what to do other than make a Titan and abuse the "chunking bug" on Behemoth to get this done. If anyone has any suggestions for how to not 14 phase this boss or if you know that Bungie is aware of this problem and intends to rebalance/rework in the future, I'm all ears. - Key issues DPS as a solo is almost impossible without abusing bugs in the game DPS feels entirely random where sometimes you can get 2 million and others times you barely break 200,000 despite doing the same thing No way to speed up the encounter as everything is luck-based and static HP is way too high for the reduction of the number of enemies you can hit in the damage phase - Solutions Extend the damage phase to be long enough for players to expend all of their ammo reserves or Reduce the HP pool enough where 1.5 million per phase can result in a 5 or 4 Phase depending on risk and how good your damage rotation is Add a mechanic that allows you to get all 4 numbers required in one teleport with added difficulty if you are up to the challenge AKA risk/reward (Controversial) Bring back 10 bosses but at a DMG gate that causes the boss to go immune at half HP to prevent one Phases with ignitions. This would also solve the chunking bug with the stasis titan.

  • You and everyone else. +1 to the ever growing pile of requests for ranieks to be more player friendly to kill. They shouldn't have touched the hp after reducing the servitors in dps.
