I have been getting the error code Marmot in activities consistently now for weeks. I first started getting this error after The Final Shape launched.
I have tried all of the steps outlined here
https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/4405096052244-Error-Code-MARMOT?_ga=2.144983220.1486359057.1742984210-1055285150.1742984210
I have also tried all of the fixes posted around the internet.
I go into an activity like Gambit, Season content, Crucible, and get an error code within a few hours. It's happened once or twice in story/DLC too.
It is not my hardware. I tried upgrading my RAM when it first started happening constantly a couple of weeks ago, and then I was having some issues with Windows so completely formatted my drives, reinstalled Windows (clean install, no files kept) - clean for any viruses
Error persists
I needed to upgrade my PC for work reasons anyway, so I bit the bullet and went ahead.
I am now running:
Intel Core i5-12400 2.5 GHz 6-Core Processor
MSI PRO Z690-A WIFI DDR4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory
2x Crucial P3 Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
MSI VENTUS 2X OC GeForce RTX 3050 6GB 6 GB Video Card
Corsair RM1000e (2023) 1000 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
MSI MAG CORELIQUID A13 62.6 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Windows 10 is a brand new install on a brand new SSD, any drives from my previous build were formatted. All drivers up to date.
Got the PC back from the store yesterday and loaded up Destiny, went into the Nether and got repeated Marmot errors. I'm not having issues in any other games.
When the Marmot error occurs, I can't even close Destiny through Steam or Task Manager, I have to restart my PC and then verify game files once I've restarted. This 'fixes' it until either 10mins later or a couple hours later if I get lucky. It's ALWAYS when we're first going into an activity.
Today I reinstalled both Steam and Destiny to a brand new, blank SSD. Wiped any mention from the %AppData% and %temp% folders before I did so.
Got one round of Gambit in and then I get Marmot going into the second round.
Looking at other forum posts with the Marmot error recently, it looks like this is a recurring issue and also someone else has completely wiped their system and tried a fresh install. At this point, it HAS to be something in the game files themselves causing it, right?

before heresy I was completely fine, playing with no error codes, but once heresy arrived I've had none stop error code marmot, it's getting to the point I'm uninstalling and reinstalling every couple of days, I've wiped my pc 2 times clean, tried possible fixes but nothing, something in their files HAS to be broken and causing to error code
