Friend’s account hacked

Bungie seriously needs to do more for security. My friend’s account got hacked and hijacked. He NEVER gave away his password or username to anyone, and yet, someone linked their account to his through the crossplay thing. Bungie needs to be able to boot a hijacker account, as this is ridiculous that bungie just wipes their hands of all responsibility. We’ve tried not only contacting Bungie about this with no help at all and basically the support saying “well tough luck bub”, and not even trying to help, but we also went to Microsoft about the hijacker’s account. They at least did something and tried to investigate, but it couldn’t go far because bungie’s cross play feature won’t let them boot the account. Get some better security like jeez. And the fact, even with proven evidence, bungie will not compensate AT ALL. Absolutely no compassion for the players at all.

  • And thats why the best thing to do before everything is lo link all 4 platforms posibles that are yours. Even if you dont use them, just created a account on that platform and link it with bungie, so now even if you got hacked on one platform, they cannot stole your account, because they cannot remove the platform and link some of their accounts. Meaning create a PS4 / Microsoft / EPIC / STEAM account and link them to your bungie account, you will be safe so no one can stole your account anymore.
