That last mission tho.

To have pushed so and hard distroyed so much for sword logic, he realised that existing after defeat would make him the ultimate hypocrite. He was, after all, a being of principals, and unfortunately they got him killed in the first place. It was a bittersweet ending. The line "atleast the stars will remember the shape i gave them", is probably the best line the franchise has ever delivered. Whether right or wrong, there will always be an indicator that he existed and maybe that's enough for anyone, regardless of who they are.

  • Good thing he didn't realise he was a totally different entity from the og oryx that we killed. We are the sum of our memory and experiences he didn't die to us thus he isn't the same oryx he is a new entity on his own who could have chosen his own path or carved a new path in the sword logic under a new name as a new god.

  • I don’t think he’ll stay dead for long . His body is still on titan and the new taken god can take the dead so…

  • I miss the original Oryx. He seemed so much more of a threat, and sounded terrifying. This one was just a chill dude.

    • Do you like it because the story is actually good or because you just like Oryx as a character l?

      • The story has actually been pretty decent this episode, marred only by Bungie's inability to get themselves organised and actually complete the voiceovers. There's so much I've missed initially from this season because I haven't realised anyone is saying anything until another character starts responding to it. If it wasn't for Bungie's insistence on making all characters play through story beats, I'd probably have missed out on them completely. Bungie had plenty of time to organise workarounds for the strike action (after all, they did it for all the characters that did speak and every other game developer managed to), so as much as you might like the writing, the only sound I'll remember from this season is the sound of the ball being dropped...hard...

      • I thoroughly enjoyed playing that last mission. I took it as a personal insult that Oryx thought he could just cheat death and threaten my solar system again. It angered me that Savathun thought she could just tell us to "butt out" and mind our own business. Witch, Oryx IS my business. I do not give him PERMISSION to live. I was happy to wipe the floor with her and Xivu's mouth pieces, before stomping out that subjegator, and putting Oryx's -blam!- in the dirt for good. Savathun says "We're not friends." No -blam!- witch. Name a time and place. I'll send you to your brother.

      • I wish could have killed all big three. Sure we kill the Echo of Oryx, so there goes big bad number one, ending his existential crisis. I would have liked a Kingsfall-ish fight to end Xivu Arath once and for all. I also would have loved to kill Savvy and then grab little Immaru and squash him like a bug. I guess in the end none of the big three truly followed the sword logic, so it is what it is, kinda boring and not as big of a fight as I was hoping for. Like let me take Willbreaker and end all this once and for all in a true showdown.

      • the story is ruined by making the fight so easy. any fight with savathun, xivu arath or oryx should not be a 5 min cakewalk.

          • My only reaction was who gave voice to someone that doesn't know how to pronounce Malok, and why didn't anyone notice?

          • I loved Savathun getting all mad and almost feral, acting all mighty as if we couldn't erase her existence on a whim. Let her come, her final death awaits.

To be honest, I think it also shows how much the hive are both hypocrites and heretics to their own logic The weak are ment to die and be forgotten, that’s just how they were Oryx seeing how they turned into this must have been a punch in the gut and I feel like if he saw fundament he would have just asked us to kill him, knowing everything he knew was a lie and the fact he was infact a hypocrite is probably why he stopped Xivu, still a coward after losing her throne world and didn’t even show up to defend her brother, sending her voice to do it, showing how much the “god of war” relied on her thrown world, the cabal would look at her and laugh, the people for war and conquering vs the coward god of war Savathun, I love how much of a hypocrite she is as she says this to the empress “you lost a dusty rock and some people, but it was worth it” acting like their lives didn’t matter and it justified their means… but it was her who did it and I love how when we took her sons head she argues to stay out of it and back off once more and then when we put the echo down… she screams at you, the people of torobotl would argue the same thing, it was Savathuns involvement that lost them their home world
