Here’s a clip of our team getting to round 11. We kill the first lucent wizard, but before we could crush the ghost, we got team wiped by the lucent knight suppressor grenade. Now how that grenade is not considered a super ability, I don’t know. Because no boss has ever insta died when I throw a suppressor grenade at them. Speaking of which, I thought the lucent hive knights were supposed to be disabled in expert mode? Or did I understand the 8.2.5.5 patch notes wrong?
Despite the balance tuning, there are still issues with lucent hive in expert CoB. One of the worst is getting 6 shrieker bosses, constant add spawns, blinding blights, unstop ogres + arc shooting wizards. All in the same round!!! I propose the removal of the Ritual modifier, since it only appears with hive. It’s very buggy, the symbols are slow to appear and often obscured by the environment. The Bound modifier is also bad, because sometimes it doesn’t draw a boss towards you and their shields stay up. Either that or they literally hide behind cover while you’re in the bound circle. Not to mention the void spikes and isolate blight bombs that can spawn in the exact spot you are all supposed to stand.
Please guys I’m begging you, the lucent hive still need to turned down quite a few notches!!!

Just remember that some of your fellow guardians asked for this (more like harassed bungie for a year). So much so that if you dont remember when tfs released one of their team leads was quoted as saying "we wanted to make it so hard that it made the player want to rage quit."🤷 Sounds like an excellent business model to me. 🙄

Expert Court is overturned. Ran it this weekend through LFG. I may never do it again. No fun whatsoever. Just insta death, adds everywhere. Running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Simply not fun

Honestly they need to reduce the amount of accolytes in Lucent Hive fights. No other faction has that many mobile turrets ready to focus fire anything that moves.

I'm less concerned about damage usually and more the combination of augments and ad spawns. There's ZERO justification why when we have to match runes for example that knights/ cursed thralls are practically spawning inside us while the boss is hiding at angles we can't shoot them and those purple spikes are spawning inside the circle as well. Seriously, do they not understand how difficulty is supposed to work? You don't make the game more challenging by handicapping the player 8 times over then punishing them for doing *exactly* what they're supposed to do to win. And the fact we're STILL not guaranteed adepts even on full runs of COB or even Nether just makes it feel so unrewarding.

Just remember one thing about the current team at Bungie. When they put out “updates” as they call them and tell you they’re fixing something, it’s simply not true. They just string together words saying they’re addressing something but in reality it’s a lie. I call it “blah, blah, blah”….

Getting one-shotted in a game built around power and movement never feels good. They just spam without the need to reload. And auto-aim. Bungie’s AI was better in Halo.

I mean it would be cool if they at least added a tell if there isn’t already one, like how you can tell how close a hive guardian is to a super by how bright their eyes glow. Maybe Bungie could have their hands glow when they are about to throw a nade

You can clearly see him throw it and you just stood there. Also watched a lot of the footage beforehand and it seem like you not taking many threats like lucient hive or champions seriously. It's expert, it's not supposed to play like easy mode

You only need 1 player on the circle not the entire team. Pretty much just a skill issue.

Edited by The-IIID-Emp1r3: 4/17/2025 10:10:03 PMIn short, they should remove all this and go back to just keeping things simple Imo each round should only ever have TWO modifiers active AND none that negate (aka making it absurd) eachother can be active, also they need to ease up on the enemy spam, Cursed Thralls shouldn't be nonstop spammed, having FIVE boss level shriekers is just absurd.. It needs to be toned down to at max 3. Then again, CoB is worse as a whole than just doing a run of the Nether on expert just for fun, wish all guns dropped in either activity rather than one half being locked away in a specific mode (& yes i know ToW gives gear if you focus, but it doesn't give shinies, it only gives barebones versions of the loot)

Ritual is the only one that really bothers me. It gets super bad with some modifiers. My least favorite is ritual and the one that punishes you for standing together (isolate I think). If you don’t have a well or a banner of war, or just some heavy form of healing and damage reduction it’s almost impossible on expert. Bound and other modifiers like constant cursed thrall are pretty bad but not quite as bad because the bosses are still able to be damaged if you separate them first. With ritual it literally negates the damage if you step outside the circle so surviving is so hard in some situations.
