They don’t lie. They do purposefully state things in an ambiguous manner that leaves it open to misinterpretation. They’ve been doing this since D1. 🙁

Why is anyone surprised…this is Bungie 2.0 and getting all so wrong on both games now . Is it just Sony really pushing and making the decisions now….i mean 3 billion dollars .

I don't know why anyone is surprised. Bungie has been lying for years about stuff and when they don't lie they're so vague that they can get away with whatever. I don't know why people keep putting up with it.

Things will go pear shaped on a regular basis just now I suspect. Let's face it, Bungie is spinning plates and struggling:- Get the hype train moving on edge, sweeten the pre-order with a "Popular" "Homage" and award a broken exotic that they will nerf at a later date. Fight a court case where they cannot provide acceptable supporting evidence. Work out how they can stretch already thin content just that bit further. Combat cheating effectively - Sorry I made that one up but we can dream I suppose. ;) Look! here is the game you need - Marathon - "Community"......? WTF!? Reality check shock. Buggy may be in a flatspin of panic, hope they can avoid a sudden stop.

That's the route they're taking now - the community apparently read the wrong thing into that statement. I mean, you couldn't just make a clear and concise statement that just meant what it said, could you... that would just be 'overdelivery'...

LOL. lock stock and trade for Bungie. Lie, miss-lead and or miss-represent in an attempt to be "PUNCHY". Yes dmg04 that is meant for you. What bungie seems to not understand about communication is that both parties have to have clear understanding. When they in an attempt to tell us something without revealing the truth, so that it can be perceived as punchy, is they create confusion, a lack of clear understanding and a feeling of being lied to. Bungie's communication team is terrible, has been for years and under Dmg04 has not gotten any better. a week for the release is no time to talk in riddles or miss lead players with comments like you brought up. But they continue to do so and I can't tell you why. They presumably take several weeks to put all the script and shenanigans together for the live stream and then still tell what are out right lies. Bungie is not a company operating in an honest or forth coming way.

I mean, they spent more than 5 minutes of -blam!- minute stream hyping up the new Dark Matter “abilities” when it’s blatantly obvious the only reason to use them is to solve puzzles. Bungie doesn’t care anymore. They’re giving us puzzle gimmicks and claiming their abilities, letting existing IPs have an effect on content expansions and story. This is arguably the worst year for Destiny since Y1 D2

For what it’s worth, it feels really silly to feature the same one for three weeks. I will certainly take the free dungeon exotic though. lol.

They did say this on stream.. sure.. and we also agreed to the EUA which allows bungie to do whatever they like to the game and only allows us to play what they allow us to play, when they allow it. This means they can change their minds at any time. Is it a good look, no, is it lying.. hard to say, are they following their own EUA... absolutely.

This might sound odd, but hear me out. I don't think anyone at Bungle lied. Certainly not on purpose. And I don't think there was any purposeful deception, rather, failure to properly communicate clearly on multiple levels. There's so many layers & people between idea inception & actual game delivery that one small incident of mistake, or negligence, gets amplified as it moves through the various layers finally making its way to the players hands. It doesn't excuse ANY of the messes that have occurred over the last... well, it's been quite some time hasn't it. I honestly think this is a systemic failure in Bungies entire infrastructure, or at least the part that deals with Destiny. If it was a bug or two and maybe the odd missed patch note, I could live with it. It's the fact that there are problems on every level. It's not deception, it's incompetence.

While dangling good "First impressions" in front of you while sneaking in....on a rolling basis at the end of their sentence.

Seeing any corporation present a sell on their product will be chock full of lies 99% of the time. I’m sure they will adjust it at one point but honestly I think they do it on purpose to illicit the outrage and give people the illusion of the win.

11 RepliesI don’t see how it’s a lie or how y’all didn’t know better. Did you hear them saying rotating? Anything at all about the weekly focus rotating? Considering how often the word “rotation” in activities with rotating focus otherwise for years now? Everyone saying it’s misleading seems to forget that when they mean rotating basis they say it. They didn’t. So no one was mislead So this is peolle not paying attention and thinking it’s more of the same.

It technically means things will happen in succession over time, but not necessarily in a strict order. Bungie never explicitly promised a fixed rotation like “W1: Spire, W2: Ghost, W3: Prophecy So when Spire shows up twice in a row, they can say: "We never said it wouldn’t happen. We just said dungeons would roll" Why it’s very close to being misleading: In most contexts, players interpret “rolling rotation” to mean a consistent and even cycle. Like how Nightfalls, Crucible modes, or seasonal activities rotate weekly. Bungie even said: “one per week on a rolling basis”, which implies a weekly changing cycle. Having Spire show up twice in the first few weeks breaks that expected pattern and creates disappointment

Well Bungie, I can say you have lost a fan and supporter today, the trust is at an all time low, I would have preferred NO event then having my hopes raised only for them to be utterly crushed below where they started
