Is it just me or what?

I hope I'm not the only dealing with this issue. Also, before you mention anything related to a wired connection, some people in this world just don't have that kind of luxury, I didn't ask about it. I don't think this will reach anyone, but I feel like this has to be noticed. What feels like since RoTN(Rite of The Nine, acronyms be damned)launched, I have been dealing with the most scuffed server connectivity, for me at least. Almost everytime I have logged into this game, and right before I reach the character selection screen, I am met with a barrage of 'Contacting Destiny 2 Servers' followed by the 'Chicken' error code; I've been dealing with this for the past few days now. I am even getting the 'Weasel' error code more often. I can handle getting the latter, but when it's followed by the former, something is clearly wrong and it wants to stay hidden. What's even more obnoxious is that after a few minutes of being in orbit, I will be met with a very long wait of the game contacting the servers, and history will repeat. Like I said, before you type the true, but unnecessary response relating to a wired connection, I don't have that luxury like some people out there. I have disconnected my Internet from the console, I restarted my console, I even soft rebooted it and those results are like a gamble to work or not. I am on last gen. xbox and I have never had to amount of issue before either. I honestly have no idea what's going on...

I’d like to preface this by recognizing that you have stated that there are issues preventing a direct hardwired connection. Because you didn’t go into much detail as to why this is the case (as you rightfully are under no obligation to do so) I’m just going to leave the following on the off chance it happens to be a solution that might work out for you. If you determine based on the information provided that it does not apply to your situation then feel free to ignore this post entirely, absolutely no need to respond to explain why it might not work out for you as you don’t owe me that in any capacity. - On the chance that you have a network that is limited to your home in particular (rather than being shared amongst multiple apartments or dorm rooms or some similar arrangement) in which the router is itself hardwired and is capable of outputting through both ethernet connection and wifi, yet there is some sort of logistical issue preventing you from simply running a physical hardline from the router to your console, you might want to do some research to determine whether a set of Powerline Adapters (they come in pairs) might be a feasible/affordable solution for you. One powerline adapter is hooked directly to the router by a short ethernet cable and then plugged into a nearby electrical socket; you then plug the second adapter into an electrical socket near your consoler, and run another short ethernet cable between adapter number two and the console. With the physical hookups complete you then pair the two adapters using switches found on them and then setup your console as you would when using a standard hardwired ethernet connection. Rather than using wifi, bluetooth or some similar means of transmitting your data through the air where certain types of interference might contribute to signal degradation, a powerline adapter transmits data from your router through your home’s electrical wiring to your device on the other end. I personally use such a setup with a Netgear PLP2000 Powerline Extender with a 2000 Mbps data transfer rate (although there are models with reduced data transfer rates if 2000 Mbps is greater than your particular needs or if overall cost is a concern) which I use exclusively for my console and has worked out well for my needs. Of course if you suspect this might be a viable solution, get a second/third opinion from someone you trust on whether it actually makes sense for your situation or if there might be simpler/cheaper/better solutions; no sense in wasting money on a potential fix that turns out to not actually be the right one for you. Hopefully you are able to find a solution even if it isn’t necessarily this one. (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)
