Cross Save Help – Cannot Unlink Old Steam Account (Lost Access), PSN Characters Affected
Hi Bungie Support,
I’m a returning Destiny 2 player and need assistance with a Cross Save issue.
My main characters are linked to my PSN account, which I still have full access to. However, I previously enabled Cross Save with an old Steam account that I no longer have access to.
Because I cannot log into that old Steam account, I’m unable to disable Cross Save myself, which means I can’t link my new Steam account or play Destiny 2 on PC with my existing PSN characters.
I understand there’s a 90-day cooldown after disabling Cross Save, but in this case, I physically can’t trigger the unlink process due to being locked out of the Steam account. I’ve also tried recovering the Steam account through Steam Support but haven’t had any luck.
Is there any way Bungie can help unlink the old Steam account from my Cross Save so I can re-link my PSN to my new Steam account?
My characters have a lot of progress and value, and I’d love to continue playing on PC without starting over.

Additionally, as of the 25th of March 2025, it is no longer possible to unlink accounts at all. Bungie are not making any exceptions to this policy. If Steam support is unable or unwilling to help you regain access to the old Steam account, there is unfortunately nothing that can be done in that regard. But you do have an Epic Games account linked so could play on PC through that.
