Not sure who all here loves Strand Warlock and tries to build into the whole minion summon thing. But threadlings kind of suck. Including Needlestorm. For a Super that requires a bit of positioning it barely does any damage. Roughly 400k~500k in Grasp with Spirit of Star Eaters + Limit Break. Needlestorm's threadlings does 30 more damage over just regular threadlings. Considering how they are supposed to take the damage value of the source it's created from until it's perched. That's pretty low. I'm not entirely sure if Needlestorm in itself needs a buff or if it's just overall Threadlings. But something's gotta be changed about that Super. Threadlings need more utility as well. Give it the ability to sever as an aspect. Currently Warlock is the only class that doesn't have access to all Strand verbs without fragments. (Woven Mail and Sever). Also on a unrelated note regarding Darkness subclass. Prismatic should have the a fragment that increases Darkness abilities by 10% as well. But instead make it so when you have a light buff. That's just my opinion though. I'd love to see others respond to this. Let our voices be heard about Strand Warlock.

I love that thread of warding nerf because of strand titan that made both strand warlock and hunter worse. I love the suspend nerf from strand titan making suspend builds for Hunter and warlock worse. Easily my favorite subclass they’ve made and they made it largely irrelevant in endgame. -
It's easy to entirely miss your target with needlestorm.

Strand as a whole is easily one of my favorite subclasses in the game. All 3 feel really fun to play and I enjoy using them in a variety of content. Strand Warlock has always felt fun to play whether you’re using the threadling or suspend build. But, it’s not really meant to be a DPS subclass and it’s super really seems designed to be fired at a group of ads and letting the threadlings clean up what survived. If Needlestorm had better tracking and all the projectiles would target the boss, it might be better but I doubt it. It’d be nice if Nova Bomb had some competition in the DPS landscape but, it doesn’t. Song of Flame was once that super but not anymore since its ignition nerf. But this season’s Artifact has made Strand cracked. Slap Barrow Dyad on base Strand Lock and activate those perks and you’ll have a fantastic time. Even the Prismatic Strand Lock build feels good. It really boils down how you use the builds to get things done. I’d be happy with a Needlestorm buff as it can sometimes struggle killing some mini bosses due to the crappy tracking. Threadlings could be buffed but then get nerfed cause they’d probably get abused in crucible again. Stupid crucible, even though I play it, it’s the only thing that gets practically everything nerfed in this game. I could count on one hand the number of times something was nerfed solely because it was strong in PvE. Overall, Strand Lock just isn’t designed to be a boss killer unfortunately, it can absolutely slay in any other department, but it just can’t match Nova or even Chaos Reach.

As a person with a threadling army load out, yes the super is too weak.
-
Yeah, Threadlings need a buff
-
I never use it. It’s funny how threadlings were meant to be a Warlock thing but wound up nerfed into the ground due to other classes.
-
Yeah, I gotta disagree. Idk if the sub-class is weak without the artifact mods - as prior to Heresy I hadn’t played my threadlings build since LF. But I’ve been using it again this season and it is absolutely cracked when you lean into the artifact mods. I did my entire Conquerer title with blueberries and it was a cake walk with the build. You can literally just use a Strand primary and use the threadlings and tangles to do all the heavy lifting for you.

Honestly.......it's never felt bad to me. Maybe I'm just not seeing the issues other people have which is fine. I'm not going to deny it having any issues either though. The tracking on needlestorm is wonky. Feels like you need to put most bosses as tightly into the reticle as possible......even then you lost 1-2 to random zipcodes. As for what I mostly use it for......suspend and add control mostly. With a side of sever. Kinda sad I have to use Prismatic to get Woven Mail out of it (or anything beyond suspension and severing). It could do with more though for sure. For anyone curious about my strand setup......It's solely Prismatic I use for it. But Aspect wise - Weaver's call / Lightning Surge Fragments - Facet of Dawn , Generosity , Balance , Solitude , Purpose , Defiance.

Strand warlock is absolutely fantastic at the moment with prismatic and the artifact.
-
Yeah i think it's because they got nerfed way back when we got the class because and i quote: *They were doing more damage than expected* And never got a buff. Right now with the artifact it's kinda ok but after that's gone they are going to suck. As for the super i wish the needles had better tracking and didn't fly randomly and better damage.

Thers a few reasons why threadlings are bad 1. Low damage: although you can spam them with spirit of inmost + a weapon with hatchling the damage is still low 2. Bad A.I: all your threadlings can go after a Thral with next to no HP like when you use a Nova and it decides to go after a minor enemy 3. Bad design with committed action: once the animation/attack is triggered it can't be interrupted even if the target dies from another damage source or teleports away because threadlings don’t track the enemy they track the position where the enemy was at the moment they committed
