After everything that has happened, everything you've done, how well do you expect Marathon to do? We trusted you in Destiny. At first, it was fun. But now, it's in a disgraceful state.
We gave you our time and money and you might as well have spit in our faces.
Permanently taking away content we paid for. Making more than half of our gear worthless saying that it is how it will be from then on just to say "Nevermind! Keep it!" years AFTER we erased them, as YOU TOLD US TO mind you. There have been issues that you have and to this day continue to blatantly ignore, even going so far as to joke about them without fixing them.
Be honest, how well do you expect Marathon to do after disrespecting almost your entire playerbase?
Before starting a new game, fix the one you've already got. Put in the work, EARN our trust back. Listen to more people than just those streamers who kiss the ground you walk on.
You want people to play Marathon? Prove your worth.

Meh, destiny or no destiny they just need to fix how they’re managed more than anything. I don’t care if it’s a new game or not (but it’d be preferable since everyone’s tired of destiny at this point). Franchise fatigue is here afterall

Bungie lied Destiny died Marathon fried.

Unless Destiny 3 has been in development for five years, Destiny isn't going to save them. I haven't played since in before Lightfall. Witch Queen was great, but they lost me leading up to Lightfall. It was actually the Marathon disaster and obscene plagiarism that brought me back to D2, believe it or not. I watched some of the Edge of Fate preview and they're saying the right things, and I'm wondering just how much player agency they're talking about, and how much of the awful modern live-service practices they're doing away with. Could be great, but it's still D2 and this game doesn't work any more. The rode this horse too long and too hard and it's time to put it out to pasture. If they haven't started D3 in secret, it's too late for Destiny. Maybe they can get Halo back.

No one is going to play Marathon. I feel for the crew on the coal face.Bungie is just another sad example of the head not listening to the body and soul. Literally and metaphorically speaking.
-
Marathon is doomed, what the f were they thinking????
-
You think they listen to reason? Lol
-
Yeah too late ! Bungie well whoever is running Bungie made their choices and it’s game over 🤷🏼♂️
-
Knowing this company for over a decade now i can confidently say they simply don’t care

Posts like this are irresponsible. You’re going to give Salty-47 a panic attack! 😂

Marathon is bad. I've played it. It's amazing, bungie neglected destiny to make Marathon...a game no one asked for.
-
Destiny rising*.
-
Yep. They've got a golden goose laying golden eggs with Destiny all they have to do is invest in it. Dedicated servers, more content, PvP maps , more raids and dungeons, blah, blah , blah... But no. Let's make Marathon.
-
Just Give Us Destiny 3!!! But Make it Bigger more MMO like in the open world!
After everything that has happened, everything you've done, how well do you expect Marathon to do? We trusted you in Destiny. At first, it was fun. But now, it's in a disgraceful state.
So then marathon can do as good as destiny has then. It only has 1 plagiarism accusation compared to destiny's 3. Destiny is also a 10 year old game spanning 2 games and a mobile game now. How long do you want or expect it to last?
We gave you our time and money and you might as well have spit in our faces.
They didn't force anyone to do either of those things. If you don't like what you spent your time and money on, that's not their problem.
Permanently taking away content we paid for.
Which everyone agreed they could do. I'd rather the game not be 200gb+ just for some useless content that hasn't been relevant for a while now.
Making more than half of our gear worthless saying that it is how it will be from then on just to say "Nevermind! Keep it!" years AFTER we erased them, as YOU TOLD US TO mind you.
A vast majority of said gear has been useless for years, and almost all of the good gear has been reintroduced with significantly better rolls after the removal of sunsetting.
There have been issues that you have and to this day continue to blatantly ignore, even going so far as to joke about them without fixing them.
Things can't magically just become fixed because you want it to. They have to not only find the issue in the first place but then attempt a fix, find out if it works or not, and then, depending on the results of said fix, either push it out or try a new fix.
Be honest, how well do you expect Marathon to do after disrespecting almost your entire playerbase?
Probably better than the game you made.
Before starting a new game, fix the one you've already got. Put in the work, EARN our trust back. Listen to more people than just those streamers who kiss the ground you walk on.
They definitely do listen to a vast majority of the playerbase. Just because they do things that you don't want or like doesn't mean they only listen to streamers.
You want people to play Marathon? Prove your worth.
People will play Marathon. All extraction shooters have a niche player base, and it definitely isn't the whiny destiny players who think they know better than a game company that has made multiple successful games, including the exact game you claim they need to fix.

Totally agree.. but they just don't care about us.

With (I believe official) Sony cancelling the marketing of Marathon I think its very much in the realm of possibility that the only foreseeable & sizeable revenue can come from Destiny. Sure they can still try to launch Marathon on time.. so they can officially shutter it (might be some legal thing that forces them to do that)... they can delay for a long time (like a year) and change the game completely.... ...or I think its possible (except the technology might not be far enough ahead of D2)... to begin taking those assets and converting it ~1-3year to a D3 or other Destiny successor. At the same time you remove the name Bungie/and those higher up/executive/cultural issue folks. The Business case is just simply... we have established fans & community in this space... it would be idiotic to just let them go... so I think while all this stuff going on is bad for The Bungie name... I think its really possible we see new investment in d2 and whatever its successor is... (new stuff is way riskier)

Sony has cancelled the paid marketing for Marathon. Speculation it won't launch this year if at all.
