This is about the Ingame Fireteam Finder, *NOT* the app or website.
There are a lot of "dead" listings in fireteam finder. By that I mean listings that are up for a long time and never change, accept applications, or have auto join set but the fireteam is already playing at capacity. This clogs up the fireteam finder list. Without naming, there's at least one listing up right now that has been there since *yesterday*
Solution 1: Simply delete listings after some fixed TTL, say 15-20 minutes.
Solution 2: Put a clock on listings that shows how long the listing has existed, so people know at least when a listing is probably dead.

Edited by Obelix: 5/28/2025 10:26:37 PMI agree it needs improving. Also new rules: don’t go take a s*** right after summoning the team. The number of time where we just wait in orbit for the leader to start.

My initial reaction to both solutions was pretty positive, and I would definitely like to see either added in as a pretty solid qol improvement. My only thought would be tbe less popular activities... the timescale could negativity affect someone trying to patiently get a game. Perhaps if someone has time to spare, then they may not mind having to resubmit lobbys ... but this needs to be crystal clear!

This would require 3 years of quantum computing calculation for bungee... Or 30 sec for a dude in a basement doing mod for fun. Bungee : yeah we looked into it and its not possible

Here’s my idea on how to fix fireteam finder 1. Let us add custom titles and descriptions (filters of course for curse words, slurs, etc) 2. Any post that hasn’t had anyone join or closed in 5-10 minutes, automatically gets closed. They can always just create another one if no one joins.

Im just happy to still be able to use the legacy version on the app as l cant stand the fireteam finder on console, always one -blam!- who doesnt want to ready up

My favorite thing is that the clock idea has already existed on the apps fireteam finder for years So they know its a good idea to have one, they just for some reason didnt put it on the in game one.

Solution 2 I like. Add to that an indicator of how many people are in the posters FIRETEAM. If we could see right away a run is full we won't even bother clicking. About the time limit on posts: My team used to put up an application required Fireteam Finder post, get a full team for Divinity, remove the LFGs from the post, and leave the post up so that we find more people who are looking for Div while we do that run. I made a custom app to auto look up every applicant to see if they need Divinity or not so you wouldn't even get an invite if you didn't need div. You, not knowing how we run our ship, would think it's a "dead" post when in reality we were likely the most active users of fireteam finder. Many sherpa and farm(read clear farmers, not loot farmers) groups function this same way. That being said, I often do see disrespectful players leave up a post when they are full wasting everyone's time. I love being in a run and hearing the classic "Can't they see we're full?!?" Umm, no, they can't actually.
