Any games you’re looking forward to?

I’ve got my eyes on… DEAD STATIC DRIVE (July 2025) A horror themed, Tremors/David Lynch inspired GTA? I saw beautiful gifs of this game years ago and I’m looking forward to playing whatever it has become. https://www.deadstaticdrive.com * * * * * * * MAFIA: THE OLD COUNTRY (August 2025) Never played a Mafia game before, but I’m a sucker for realistic historical stuff. 1900s Sicily looks wonderful. https://mafia.2k.com/en-GB/the-old-country/ * * * * * * * DIRECTIVE 8020 (October 2025) I always enjoy Supermassive games (Until Dawn and House of Ashes were my favourites). If you’re not familiar, they make horror games that feel like interactive movies - your actions influence relationships between characters and, more importantly, who lives and who dies.  https://www.thedarkpictures.com * * * * * * * MOUSE P.I. (2025) Looks like a 1930s Fleischer cartoon. Hopefully a fun, arcady shooter. https://www.playsidestudios.com/games/mouse * * * * * * * SUPER ZOO STORY (2025) Many years ago I played Theme Park on the DS. You could charge obscene prices for food and drink, and your visitors would happily pay. Then they’d puke all over your park and you’d have to hire some janitors to clean it up. I don’t know if this game will be that much fun, but the cute pixelated graphics are giving me similar vibes. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1631920/Super_Zoo_Story/  * * * * * * * TINY TIRES (2025?) A top-down racer featuring toy cars, made by a single developer as a labour of love. It’s clearly inspired by Micro Machines - the original NES version is one of my all time favourite games and the V3 version on PlayStation is also fantastic. https://www.tinytires.com * * * * * * * GTA VI (May 2026) Nuff said. https://www.rockstargames.com/VI

 • Kirby Air Riders is the big one for sure. I still play the original from time to time. The original released 20 years ago, and it's going to be really exciting to see what they can do with the idea now. And, if that wasn't enough, Sakurai is directing it, which is basically a guarantee of quality. The original was actually the last Kirby game he directed, so it's also just fun that Sakurai is being reunited with his baby (he created Kirby, if you didn't know). Kirby & the Forgotten Land* this one has an asterisk, because the game isn't new, but it is getting a DLC of sorts with the Switch 2 release. Forgotten Land is really great, so I'm quite hyped. Mario Kart World. I'm excited for it, but admittedly my hype is stifled a little bit since there's no confirmation of 200cc yet. And given that we're a week off from release, it's possible there just is no 200cc. If there's not, I'll be sad, as 200cc is all I play on 8DX. Those are the only games with a more set-in-stone release date, but there are a few others with either ambiguous release dates, or none at all. Hollow Knight: Silksong of course has a supposed release date for this year. As far as I'm aware, though, Team Cherry hasn't said anything about it directly, so I'm not 100% sure how accurate that is. Constance is a Metroidvania with some heavy Splatoon vibes to it. The protag can turn into paint and junk. Seems fun. No release date as far as I'm aware, though I haven't been able to keep up on it as well since I got off Twitter. Decline's Drops is out on PC, but hasn't gotten its console release yet. Smash Bros inspired platformer. Looks really fun. And finally, some games that are already out, but I'm planning on getting to in the near future: Mega Man ZX. Recently played through all 8 Mega Man X games, and then got started on Mega Man Zero. First time playing through the series, all the Legacy Collections were on cheap. The MMZ games have been alright so far, but not as good as MMX, but I'm really excited to get to MMZX. I don't know too much about it, but it seems like you have forms based on the Guardians, and an interconnected map. Sounds fun. Mega Man Battle Network. Battle Network is a game I've always wanted to get into every since playing One Step From Eden. Played a few minutes of the first one the other day, and it's a pretty brilliant fusion of action & turn based games. I'm excited to play more!
