Actually letting the community and fans play the dlc early. Not exclusively top streamers who get flown out to bungie headquarters and get treated like royalty along with collaboration events when bungie incentives community members to pay to subscribe to these same streamers, free collectors editions for all of these same streamers, and regular free gift packages for these same streamers every couple months.
Am I supposed to be happy for these streamers who always get the best of everything while the community at best might get a free emblem every now and then?
Maybe randomly select guardians using a random number generator and get a real feedback system going if they must be wined and dined and sent all the way to your HQ for a private and intimate behind the scenes tour, instead of the echo chamber you keep using. That way all players could actually aspire to be part of the bungie community, get to see the headquarters themselves and maybe even a free t shirt. But the way you all handle these things reminds me why there’s a huge disconnect between bungie and their community, you just genuinely don’t care about us. You only care at the bare minimum required level to keep yourselves in business and not be totally despised.
What is the most common concern for a bungie community member: “will the dlc be fun?”. “Will it be worth my money and time?”
Whats the most common concern for the elite full time streamer community: “how can I generate money off fans by playing this content?”. “Is bungie paying for my flight home?” “Does bungie have my right shipping address for free collectors edition?” “Did bungie get my shirt size right since I put on all this new weight?” “If I’m too critical to bungie, will they invite me back for the next all expenses paid trip to the bungie HQ for the next dlc?”
What kind of reaction are you expecting from us bungie? Oh wow Mr elite bungie sponsored streamer, I’m so proud of you !!! Man that’s so cool you were picked again for the 4th or 5th time to get yet another behind the scenes tour of bungie studios.
All this says to me as a longtime fan of bungie is that “You’re not one of us” “You pay for our lifestyle and that’s it”
You know what comic cons do right?? They bring the new trailers and new episodes and the celebrities to the fans, not some elite exclusive club none of us will ever be allowed to join.
There’s a reason other companies do beta testing that may start small but eventually get opened up to the whole public.
Bungie if you want to bring the fans back, you actually have to interact with the fans and treat them the same as you treat these streamers. If we are all just walking paychecks to you, then we will continue walking away with our money and going elsewhere where there is no constant “elitism” and “classism” coming from the developers themselves.
I am incredibly extremely disappointed in you bungie. I don’t care what random small time streamer or person you could’ve picked instead, it could have been literally anyone else and I actually would have cared. You give us nothing to hope for, nothing to dream about. You want only our money and shower your handpicked elitist streamers with all the free stuff they could ever hope for.
If you think streamers are more important than the players who keep this game alive, then you can surely count on one less person buying the new dlc. If I need to get my destiny 2 fix fulfilled, I’ll just watch a streamer play it for free and ensure you bungie never get a dollar more of my money if that’s what you really want.
It’s good to know the fans mean nothing to you, but already my phone is getting bombarded with streamers announcing their own videos about their luxurious private all expense paid tours of the bungie HQ so I guess it’s time to unfollow some streamers and find some smaller accounts who do the exact same thing without getting handouts from bungie 24/7.
