Here me out bungie, do I have the gun for you!
Say hello to The Harvester.
A granade launcher that, You guessed it, Launches Corn!
Intrinsic Trait: "Harvest Launcher"
This launcher fires genetically modified corn-cobs that explode into a burst of kernels and shrapnel, dealing AoE damage and blinding nearby enemies with buttery residue.
Barrel Perks
Husk-Forged Barrel – Increases stability and reload speed. Built from reinforced corn stalks.
Cob-Chambered Bore – Boosts blast radius at the cost of handling. Corn-packed explosions go wider.
Magazine Perks
Popcorn Payload – Corn grenades pop mid-air, creating mini-explosions with tracking micro-kernels.
Creamed Core – Reduces blast radius but leaves a lingering slick that slows enemies.
Trait Perks
Kernel Cascade (like Chain Reaction) – Final blows cause enemies to erupt into cascading popcorn bursts.
Field Plowed (new) – Rapid hits till the ground beneath enemies, slowing and disorienting them.
Golden Harvest – Precision hits have a chance to spawn Orbs of Power (yes, with a golden husk glow).
Origin Trait (if it's from a seasonal activity)
Bountiful Yield – Reloading after a kill gives bonus handling and a chance to auto-load a second corn grenade.
Weapon: The Harvester
Type: Legendary Grenade Launcher
Frame: Adaptive
Flavor Text:
"From soil to solar flare, everything yields to the harvest."
Lore:
"They mocked me," the old Exo muttered, gripping the launcher with hands that had planted more than they had fired.
"Said farming was obsolete. Said the soil was dead. But they forgot—there’s power in things that grow."
On the edge of a forgotten moon, where Cabal drop-pods had reduced colonies to craters, one Guardian sowed seeds in volcanic ash. He didn’t wield Light in the usual way. He cultivated it.
Using Golden Age terraformation tech and a few... less-than-legal modifications to a Tex Mechanica frame, he created a launcher that spat vengeance by the bushel. Its ammunition? Kernel-forged and Light-tempered. Its damage? Delicious.
Reports followed: a Red Legion battalion blinded by butter-slick shockwaves. A Vex construct reduced to mulch by a single "harvest round." Witnesses said they heard laughter—low, mechanical, joyful.
And when the dust settled, only corn stalks remained, growing defiantly among the ruin.
"I don’t fight for crops. I fight with them."
Hit me up 🌽

Shouldn't it be "ear me out", with it being corn based? I shall collect my coat. Good day sir.

Bungie: Yoink our idea now and not gonna give you credit.
-
Lmao. A breach loading grenade launcher with cluster bombs would actually be super dope though.
-
Can the projectiles explode as popcorn, if you use a Solar subclass with it?

I love it. Vegetables can be problematic in the right context. Onion ring Shuriken for example. They have been a staple of vegetarian ninjas for centuries.

catalyst > High Fructose Corn Syrup combatants get sugar high moving at insane speed until they smash against something and explode ..this weapon is perfect actually for the non-guardian citizen farmers of the Last City and its rural areas specifically.. -
That's an a-maize-ing concept.
