This may seem elitist.. but I think that people who cheese raid encounters are bad at the game.. raids are supposed to be skilled and require a level of mastery that most players may not get to experience. and I do think more people should do and learn raids, but cheesing them is not the answer. Recently I've been doing a lot more LFG raids on fireteam finder because my friends have not been on much and I love to raid. I've noticed recently that the new thing is to cheese every raid encounter possible and make the experience as boring as possible for everyone. In VoG especially, once a team gets to templar everyone screams at me to jump off the map or just to sit there near the cleanse waiting for the oracles to mark us.. claiming "its just faster" when I ask why we are needing to do this. Basically people have devolved to the point where simple destroying 3 oracles is too hard and complicated for us because it takes away 1 second of damage time? it blows my mind that this is really the point we have come to with this game. THEN we get to gatekeeper.. and oh my lord god forbid people dont know how to play hot potato with the relic. now suddenly someone needs to know how to push things off the edge so that the relic person can camp one portal? what is this use our brains as little as possible the game? and then dont even get me started at Atheon.. like do we really all need to die so that ONE person can show off that they can do oracles by themselves? didn't we just say how breaking oracles was too hard back 3 encounters ago at templar? what is this?? man it just really bugs me how people cant just learn how to do things the normal way because its either too hard or its too slow.. My favorite raid of all time is Last Wish and I LOVE doing Riven legit.. but I cant LFG now without being forced to do it, manipulated into doing it or getting immediately pulled to riven because someone broke out the map at the start of the raid, flew to the wish wall and then teleports everyone there.. I'm not joking btw this happened to me 2 days ago. Raiding on lfg has become the most brain dead and boring thing in this game when it used to be so fun to join and learn how people did things their own way or teaching people my strats for encounters. Now raids are so unfun to do unless you have a whole group of friends on willing to do it.. Raid cheeses should be PATCHED and made priority to fix in this game, and if you only know how to cheese raid encounters then you shouldn't be doing raids on LFG let alone calling yourself good at that raid.

° It's just a video game 🤣 ° I don't care how is done as long as it gets done. ° This is my past time not my job! ° Create your own fireteam with your own rules

If you ain’t cheesin’ you ain’t trying.

I can’t complete raid encounters with or without cheese. Just let people play how they like, so long as they’re not screwing other players over in Crucible.
-
Only raid I have cheesed is riven. I want the key and get out. Since I have the exotic for it I don't plan on entering that raid again.
-
Im genuinely having a very hard time thinking of encounters you can cheese other than templar, gatekeeper, atheon, the witness and riven

Will take the easiest lowest stress route Thankyou very much

Yeah the way edge of Fate is designed be ready for more videos like that all over YouTube of streamers trying to cheese every single Mission every single piece of content to get better loot because that's what they like. They like to cheese stuff to a point because the game is so hard that people on a massive scale can't even handle the content lol.. Already the people who had Early Access are already complaining that the puzzles are too complex in the campaign ex Fallout. https://youtu.be/-lEBcOlNjsk?si=2V90JZw9cMFSFVfj

I find more often than not when raiding with newer raiders who are not very familiar with the encounters, doing the encounters legit is easier and less time consuming than cheesing. If they cant meet the damage check, then its usually wipe if it cant be one phased, because they dont know the encounter at all. I learned this back in D1 Y1 VoG, when everyone was trying to push off Templar and Atheon with grenades. Just learning the encounter, and optimizing execution made it much easier than trying to get the cheese to work right. I took a few years off from raiding, then started getting back into it a bit recently. Half of the players with enough clears to know encounters, dont know the encounters because they have only run it with a cheese. So, at the least, players should learn legit, and only cheese when it provides a substantial benefit, other than not needing to teach one or two people their roles in the mechanic. Learning a cheese without knowing the legit, is doing a disservice to newer raiders.

I'm gonna add you cuz I agree 100%... I have over 30 clears each of Last Wish & VoG, but have never actually done Templar legit or found a group that will even *try* Riven legit when I ask... I aggressively avoid people with "solo" raid clears. Cant stand to hear ppl say "I solo'd this raid" when its actually just a final checkpoint where they booped Crota off the map. Yea, Congrats. The worst ones are the "GodSlayers" who join a teaching run of DSC & think we have to wipe when we dont one-phase Atraks. I watched a guy spend so long trying to knock Rhulk off the stairs that we could have done the whole raid in the time it took him. Real "skillful" lol

People raid for different reasons. If you don’t want to play with players that cheese, just ask at the start of the raid how encounters will be done and choose to leave accordingly- Or create your own LFG team with - all legit strats only … Why police how other players choose to enjoy the game- If I had to farm riven for something I’d much rather cheese it 30x than run it legit 30x with randos. Same token I’d rather run it legit 30x with friends than cheese it 30x

To me, The skips and cheeses are part of the skill. Makes the grind faster too
-
Agreed but others just play for the loot and want the fastest thing to get it
