Get rid of Sunsetting 2.0 (the subtle "thought we could get away with it by saying it's a tier system edition"

This tier system is just sunsetting again but made to sound cool and flashy especially with the tier 5 stuff (which I bet you isn't a guaranteed shiny and if it is I'll eat my underwear) What makes this worse is that they're once again removing not just the weapons we've been using but ALL the armor too and they're only giving back about 3% of what was removed so all those adept gm, master raids and dungeons before now? Waste of time. Thank god I haven't bought the DLC and honestly think it's for the best especially since how Rite of the Nine now is pointless with the neww system (makes me realise now why there's no armor like they had for Into the Light). And unless they retract this tier system (which will be never I imagine) I'll be waiting till Destiny 3 comes out and by the rate it's going 😬 unlikely so farewell.

  • What a clever, and sneaky, way of Bungie to sunset gear. Same with origin traits on newer weapons. Bungie dodges all the flak whilst brain cell deficit players argue its a good idea. Kudos Bungie.

    • I mean the audience they cater this to literally consists of streamers and unemployed twitch viewers. No casuals are left playing this game anymore. And all the streamers and toxic elitists wanted these changes so yea, Bungie is catering to their audience. They are LiStEnInG. Too bad the casuals who fed this money hungry company are long gone and now THEY, the customers, arent listening back anymore. They dont care. They wont come back. The streamers with their 5 viewers who are tier 3 subs will enjoy this! They will have all the tier 5 stuff and will have bragging rights towards the 500 others who are left playing this daily. Wow very cool, they must have so much fun with their elitist mindset in this now dead MO. No, its not an MMO anymore, its a MO.

      • yeah i'm not spending 500 hours to min max my character again for 15% boost, the game is terrible anyway what's the point of doing 15% more damage than the others

To everyone defending this move: you have a gambling addiction problem. I've said it in many places before, here and elsewhere, that you were never interested in there being an end goal to the grind. You want to "chase" forever; you want to live off the dopamine hit of checking that gun or that armor and you get mad if it actually rolls what you want because now you don't have a reason to chase it anymore. If you need Bungie to force you into relinquishing your gear so you can keep running after that dragon, you have a serious problem. You need outside help and I suggest you find it. EDIT: replies and downvotes proving my point. It's like none of you understand that regrinding gear and weapons that roll the exact same spread of perks/stats every season just for the "bonus" damage and DR is insane. You're literally being manipulated for metrics and you're happy about it. This is why you have a problem. I'm in the "wrong genre?" This isn't a genre -- it's a blatant Skinner Box.

        • I bought the annual pass and played the first season and quit lol. Just check in to the forums every once in a while to see if Bungie still makes everyone salty that plays their game- expectations have been exceeded this time by what I’m seeing! Shout out to the other year ones that loved this game and check in to see if it’s ever going back to the glory days. It was such a perfect game and I’ll never understand why they turned it into this!

        • yes, this is sunsetting all over again. Depending on the availability of ways to earn tier 5 high stats plus armor, will determine me finally quitting, and I presume Bungie will lose more tier 5 Customers like myself

          • Giving you new, better gear to chase so you stop using old stuff isn't sunsetting. It's literally how live service games stay alive. Welcome to the party, pal.

            • Our current guns will still be very good. It’s the +15% for seasonal weapons that is a joke. Forced meta in game where players have spent 100S of hours building an arsenal

I actually don't mind the armour changes as it switches stuff up. But The weapons being apart of an artificial tier system seems unnecessary, as from my understanding, not much is really changing weapon wise for us to even want to grind new weapons specifically. So is it even worth the grind for current weapons atm if they'll all just be a lower tier in the near future?

                • So you want to use the same armor set for 10 years ? "I'm so mad at Bungie, they are making it so I actually have to play the game, how dare they, I want you have zero reason to care about new armor forever"😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

That’s literally the biggest thing it has. They won’t have significant gameplay advantages over lower tiers, just minor stats and cosmetics. One of your gear is being removed. What do you think the weapon tiers are? Lmao.

The artifice armour from master duality has been the best armour in the game for three years now. The weapons that have released starting with into the light and since then have fit every niche, every use case the game can throw at us. They are running out of ways to get people to play new content when you can bring Tinasha's/Praedyths/lost signal, Choir of one/Lord of wolves/Velocity baton/Aberrant action/No hesitation, and Corrective measure/Hezen vengeance/Slammer with 3 year old armour into any piece of content in the game and already have all the best things available. These things will all still be good but there needed to be a massive loot shakeup or no one would play, simple as. None of the loot in this game is hard enough to get that you should be attached to it anyway. I just listed all the best weapons in the game and the only one you cant target farm, focus, or craft is velocity baton and it might be the worst thing on the list.

                        • So high stat rolls are still high stat. Just changed where the stats are binned. The high stats will be just as rare. Also everyone needs to adjust. This change applies to weapons as well as abilities. Sunset 2.0 seems appropriate since it kills nearly all old builds and forces us to start over. It will be interesting to pull old weapons made OP due to unintentional consequences.

                          • Always said the end content grind was mostly worthless and that the DCV wouldnt save your vault in the long term. Now your gear is trash and your vaults gutted. I’m feeling so vindicated.

                          • I actually don't mind the changes as I play casually and value the fun with my clan over the loot especially right now with armour and weapons feeling pointless.

                          • They aren't removing anything. They are making new, stronger things. From the videos we've seen, our old armor is still going to be fine for at least a while too. They're converting their stats into the new stats. I think everyone's going to end up swapping to the new system eventually, but not because the old armor has been made useless. Simply because the new armor is better. This is not sunsetting. This is the alternative to sunsetting. They make newer, better things so that we have a proper incentive to swap away from the old stuff. They've been doing this for years by just making stronger perks on new guns, it's just that since it wasn't a sweeping systemic change you didn't notice. It is, substantively, the exact same thing.
