It’s honestly frustrating how often matches in Trials, Crucible, Vanguard Strikes, and Rite of the Nine are sabotaged by players who leave early or go AFK and expect the rest of the team to carry them. It kills the flow of the game and punishes everyone else who’s trying to play the right way.
We all have bad games — that’s part of learning and getting better. But constantly quitting or checking out mid-match? That’s not just poor sportsmanship, it’s disrespectful to your teammates who queue in expecting a fair and competitive experience.
No, they’re not as game-breaking as cheaters, but let’s not pretend the impact isn’t serious. A leaver or an AFK player can still ruin a match completely. And when it happens multiple times in a row, it starts to feel like the system just doesn’t care.
I genuinely think Bungie should implement temporary suspensions or stricter penalties for chronic leavers, especially in high-stakes activities. Accountability matters. Let’s reward teamwork and effort — not tantrums and quitting.
We all benefit when players stick it out, win or lose, and actually play the game. Let’s work together, improve, and make the experience better for everyone.
