Where do we even start?
1. New armor system looks novel at best. Obviously everyone will run CC sets then swap to Weapon heavy sets for DPS
2. Portal looks lazy and the activities shown aren’t new. Just a re issue of the content we have been playing for years. Also. will likely hold nothing of value for endgame players. Experience or content wise.
3. New weapon system looks incredibly mid. No one cares about 3 perks on a gun except to enhance the chance at getting the god roll. I have tons of multi perk guns and very rarely switch. Bungie has and will nerf the truly OP combos a la edge transit. Enhanced barrels don’t matter in PVE, + picking barrels is more important than enhancing them.
4. New leveling and reset system looks absolutely -blam!-. Leveling through old activities is not new content, plain and simple.
I’m not overly concerned, but I do feel like this next expansion may actually tank the game. The momentum from FS is basically the only thing sustaining it currently. A lot of these systems are a soft sunset or a regression to what drove the #s down in the first place. I can’t think of a single new thing I’m looking forward to. If this is a Sony controlled Bungie I have even less hope for the game than I did before.
Lastly, having CCs drop the information to avoid backlash is pure comedy. That’s when know they are dodging what they perceive as guaranteed backlash lol but hey… got those pre orders with the SW ornaments right??????

Actually a lot of this looks to be catering to new players. New armor + Weapon changes make it easier for newer players to not feel as left behind. And the reasoning for the portal is that it helps newer players understand where to put their time.
1. New armor system looks novel at best. Obviously everyone will run CC sets then swap to Weapon heavy sets for DPS
I agree - it looks fine. Glad that armor now has a reason to be chased again, but I am a little nervous about vault space pressure and balancing.
2. Portal looks lazy and the activities shown aren’t new. Just a re issue of the content we have been playing for years. Also. will likely hold nothing of value for endgame players. Experience or content wise.
Portal design needs some help, but that’s a largely UI/UX thing. As for the content thing, some of them are old (re-adding fan favorite activities bc people complain that it disappears) and a lot of them are going to be new and current stuff - like playlists and season activities. They’ve also explicitly mentioned that raids and dungeons are set to release there in Renegades. They’re avoiding matchmaking for high difficulty content and the Portal houses all the matchmade stuff - while fireteams finder houses the rest.
3. New weapon system looks incredibly mid.
People who care about roll compression for their vaults or those who aren’t good enough to consistently obtain the weapons benefit massively from the 3 perks per column. So that’s not a “no one” Nerfing and buffing combos is just how live service games work. Edge Transit’s god roll is still extremely competitive too Enhanced barrels and mags are small things to entice you to do higher difficulty content. It’s literally like current Adepts….
4. New leveling and reset system looks absolutely -blam!-. Leveling through old activities is not new content, plain and simple.
100% agree with this. Leveling system needs more time in the oven. Again, it’s designed to be an on loading point for new players. All of your complaints will only affect frequent players that engage in endgame.
