Craask, Kell of Kings: Survival and Possible New Antagonist Without Being a Scorn or Hive Controlled

Craask, Kell of Kings, is widely accepted in Reef history as having been killed during the uprising led by Fikrul the Fanatic and Uldren Sov, yet the details surrounding his demise remain frustratingly vague and unconfirmed, leaving open the tantalizing possibility that Craask actually survived by extraordinary means, escaping death without succumbing to Hive magic, Scorn corruption, or Fikrul’s control. One plausible avenue for his survival lies in the enigmatic and merciless machinations of the Vex, who are known throughout Destiny’s lore to abduct significant individuals and entire battlefields into simulations and alternate timelines for purposes of study or manipulation. It’s conceivable that, amidst the turmoil and confusion of the Reef’s fall, Craask was either critically wounded or cornered and captured by Vex forces, transported into a temporal pocket or digital labyrinth where his physical body was effectively removed from the Reef’s reality and frozen in a state of suspended animation—his aging halted, his presence erased from the political and military chessboard, and his enemies left believing he was dead. Such a fate would explain the lack of physical evidence or body, and why Fikrul and Uldren, caught in their own schemes and battles, accepted his absence as final. In a complementary scenario, it’s equally possible that, rather than dying outright, Craask’s loyal followers—refusing to abandon their fallen Kell—placed him into advanced cryosleep or stasis chambers, a technology known within Destiny’s universe for preserving life through long, frozen slumbers without deterioration, essentially pressing pause on his existence until a future revival. This would fit with the lore hint describing Craask as “the last to die, begging for his life in a forgotten tongue,” perhaps not a literal death but a desperate plea that led to his preservation instead of execution. Fikrul and Uldren, lacking a body and caught in the upheaval, believed him lost forever and focused on securing power in his absence, never searching further. The profound isolation of either scenario—years lost inside Vex simulations or centuries spent in stasis—would have irrevocably altered Craask’s psyche and capabilities. Exposure to Vex technology could grant him knowledge of time manipulation, reality bending, and alien technologies far beyond the Reef’s understanding, while extended cryosleep could steep him in bitterness and vengeance against those who cast him aside. Upon awakening or escaping, Craask would not return as the Kell he once was; instead, he would emerge transformed into a unique antagonist wielding cold intellect and possibly command over unfamiliar forces, neither Hive nor Scorn, free from Fikrul’s shadow, and intent on reclaiming power and reshaping the Reef’s destiny. This hidden survival, combined with his evolving ambitions, creates a rich and unexplored narrative vein that fits seamlessly into Destiny’s lore, offering Guardians a formidable foe steeped in mystery, political intrigue, and cosmic threat. The reason Fikrul and Uldren never uncovered the truth is grounded in the chaos of the Reef’s fall, the absence of direct evidence, and the political convenience of declaring Craask dead—a convenient end to a dangerous rival that kept him out of their minds and plans. Craask’s survival and return could thus redefine Reef history and open new chapters in Destiny’s story, confronting Guardians with a forgotten Kell whose shadow has only grown longer in the silence.

  • The Kings were on Earth, in the cosmodrome, and unlike The Devils, they kept to themselves, didn't confront humanity I hoped Craask and the Kings were going to be the first Eliksni allies, why would the assistant hunter Vanguard be wearing a Kings cloak, a trophey, or a sign of admiration ? Uldren and Fikrul took them to the reef, to wage war on the Awoken, and to free Riven, which Uldren thought was Mara But that's beside the point, everything you said could still be true, I just would hope he would be an anti-hero, and be glad to find out we killed both Uldren and destroyed the demon Fikrul for good, but not totally be our ally
