Ban needs to be lifted

#Bungiehelp. My friends account got hacked a year ago and an Epic account was linked to it. My friend as soon as he found out updated his password, 2 way uthentication was also turned on. Friend could never unlink the Epic account do to no access. The Epic account bypasses 2way authentication and password so the hacker could auto log into Destiny 2. Support tickets were submitted to boh Epic and Bungie. Both companies tossed it back and fourth blamming the other company. Hacker used the Epic account, deletrd my friends charachters, would log in randomly to do things, than decided to use in game hacks to get my friends account banned. Multiple times I found the person on my friends Destiny account, sent fireteam invites and the pwrson would log off. Than late at night log back in. A week a go the hacker got into Destiny 2, did in game hacks to get my friends account banned. My friend appealed the account ban, sent in ticket numbers for both Epic and Bungie for the year struggle with trying to get the issue resolved as proof he wasnt the account holder of the Epic account that did the things that triggered the destiny account ban. The ban was upheld. My friend played since d1 beta, I played at opening of D1. Over 10 years of playing together and it got shut down due to something he had zero control over. Justice needs to be served and Bungie needs to make this right and unban the account. I witnessed all the crap that has happened to him. The emotional stress, frustration and depression caused by this. #Bungiehelp#Unban#JusticeIsNeeded#DoTheRightThingASAP #BungieAnswerTheCall!

  • Hello there, The forums are not able to assist with appeals of suspensions, restrictions or bans. Posting in the forums cannot assist you beyond linking you to the appeal and speculation. However, there is a process in place for players to appeal their ban or restriction. If your friend feels the ban was placed in error, feel free to review this Page, and submit the form at the bottom. If your friendf hasd already submitted a ticket than they have done all that they can do. The appeal process will trigger a 2nd review of the situation and if the ban was incorrect it will be lifted, if found to be valid, it will remain. If more than 1-2 weeks have passed or the ticket is closed without contact, it is generally safe to assume that Bungie found the ban to be properly placed and will not be modified. Bungie will typically respond only if more info is needed or if the ban/restriction is altered. The form is for appeals only, they do not answer questions as to why or how long.
Requests for additional information, such as the length of a restriction or reason for a ban, will be disregarded. https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049024492
Please note that while every appeal is reviewed by Bungie Security Staff, as mentioned in the article, there is no guarantee for a response, nor is there a guarantee that the ban or restriction will be overturned. For more information on Bungie's policy regarding bans and restrictions, please review the policy here.

  •
#DoTheRightThingASAP
The correct thing to do is for your friend to forget about the account. For security purposes, bungie should absolutely not unban them bc then the hacker in question would also be unbanned.

  • We are responsible for our own account security. Bungie doesn't care who was behind the keyboard when the infraction happened, so they ban the account.

If it's been this long the ban is upheld. Bans are permanent for everyone. Time for him to move on. Also Bungie does not answer ban posts in the forums.
