I never thought for a second I'd have to make a post like this, but here we are.
Today, my wife was greeted with a ban in your game. Of course, no reasoning as to why or what prompted the matter. Nothing. Just a message outlining that the years invested into this game, the money, everything... is gone. She's devastated, to say the least, and I'm just blown away by the whole situation. And as a husband, it hurts to see my wife hurt.
I really don't know what to say. I know players here, Bungie representatives included, will jump on this post and say "Bungie doesn't discuss bans" and "Your wife shouldn't have cheated" or whatever., and that's fine. But I'm in a unique position to know that my wife doesn't cheat, as I quite literally game beside her and work on her PC. And the fact that Bungie will "one strike" an account without any sort of feedback is pretty heartless. My wife has invested a LOT of time in this game (she's Top 900 for active triumph score...something she's extremely proud of) and Bungie doesn't even say, "Hey...this account that has THOUSANDS of hours of regular game time...there's a SINGLE suspicious date/activity here...let's put this account on notice that any other suspicious entries will warrant a ban.". Nope. Nothing like that. Just ban.
Of course she'll appeal...but even then that system is terrible. She doesn't even know what could have caused the ban in the first place. She's played sporadically the past month or so, and her last "session" was a week ago when she helped me grind Gambit. So this leads us to believe bans are issued WAY AFTER the fact of the potential transgression, which makes it even harder to appeal as we don't even know the date the supposed infraction took place.
Just really sucks Bungie. Truly. Really really sucks.
EDIT: Feel free to troll or roast me or whatever. I'm 99.9% sure that this will do nothing. But for the 0.1% chance something does happen..it's worth it.
UPDATE: Insight was provided to the infraction, which was for violation of ToS at the end of March 2025. Although evidence was shared reflecting zero participation of individual engagement during the violation, the punishment is pending appeal. Sucks, but that's way the cookie crumbles sometimes. Appreciate all who helped me find the proper channels to share the evidence. Eyes up.

I had a friend visit from Switzerland & when he was here we got hit with lockdown so he was in a hotel for nearly 3 weeks waiting to fly home. Asked how I was filling up time, told him destiny, he was intrigued & despite having not gamed in about 50 years he jumped in, all in, he bought a series X, all the dlcs, silver, played about 18 hours a day just unlocking stuff - guys nearly 75 - fell for the game in a big way. Spent near £750 but loved it. Flew home eventually & of course still played daily for maybe 4-5 days then got hit with a permanent ban. No reason given. He was devasted & didn't have a clue why all his time invested & money spent was simply taken away. He appealed, months passed, no reply. He never touched PvP, he never touched endgame, he literally did patrols, seasonal events & campaigns. The only possible thing we could guess it was, was possibly the account recovery thing as it was around the time bungie made a big song & dance about stopping it, & he played in 2 countries close together in time, there's no other explanation. He was absolutely gutted as he simply couldn't play anymore. He tried to log in every 3-4 months for a few years & eventually sold his Xbox, a gamer was lost. He died last year, still not knowing what or why.
