I think with the upcoming change it's finally time bungie should rework the aspect and turn consecration into a normal melee.
Consecration will now deal the LOWEST damage of all 3 solar melee's by not even a small amount but a LARGE amount. Rn it deals a bit more than hammer strike but now hammer strike with syntho will deal almost 2x more damage than consecration. You probably don't even need consecration since I'm assuming this ignition effect also applies to roaring so you could just run roaring and hammer strike would beat it.
There's 0 reason for consecration to be an aspect if it'll be weaker than both hammer strike and throwing hammer.

Incinerator snap and consecration were both mentioned in the last TWAB hinting at balancing coming for them. You can’t claim to know how much damage it will be doing.

Instant ignites on each add in a group doesn’t sound bad at all, especially with triple consecration. We got used to syntho buffed ignites and it never made sense, since ignites aren’t melees.

I think you’re just comparing their single target function. Consecration is designed to be used against groups while Hammer Strike is largely single target. The bulk of consecration’s damage is through generating multiple ignitions - effectively stacking its damage and allowing you to nuke extremely tanky enemies. I believe this is to limit the effectiveness of Consecration in single target scenarios. And consecration is currently so widely overtuned on Prismatic that Bungie needs to pull the trigger on the base ability.
