Invis meta

Current meta is dominated by invis and the camping type gameplay we have is because of it. You realize it when you use anything else and try to push and get instantly deleted. Then you put it back on and watch as players push you and can't really do anything. Maybe I'm just part of the few who is tired of it and most players are good with it

  • Camping will always be around regardless of invis, and invis isn't even the problem. How do I know this? Because complaints about invis were rare on here until they added On The Prowl (a better way to proc invis in pvp than Trappers Ambush or Stylish Executioner) and reworked RDM to stack up 3 dodges/ 21 seconds worth of invis at once. Trust me, if something isn't enough of a problem to warrant even looking at it balance-wise until after there are multiple new ways to use it, it's not a problem, but the fact it can be used so much more often is. You don't nerf X because Y and Z enable it to be used more often, you nerf Y and Z so X is no longer an issue. And when the whole point of invis is stealth, the most they can do without a complete rework that would no doubt negatively affect a Nightstalkers ONLY viable method of survival in PvE is make it easier to see, which logically isn't a good idea if anyone remembers how terrible invis was back in D1 originally, and all that needed to proc was to crouch for 2 seconds. I'd compare that to sword elites in Halo 1-2. I'll worry about invis hunters when the ability itself becomes an issue and not the fact Bungie in their infinite wisdom thought it a good idea to add 2 new ways to keep it going. Now 4 when we consider the buff coming to Speedloader Stacks and Dragons Shadow.

    • I've used invis hunter since D1 and it's the opposite of camping. Unnerf Fighting lion and I'll play with my warlock again :)

    • I am a void hunter, and today alone, I killed 2 or 3 cloaked void hunters, all different players, shot in the head, what's this invisibility meta you speak of? lol. My gun was even clunky, and slow to shoot, and reload. I didn't win though. pouty face*

      • It’s has bungie philosophy that this is a different skill ceiling. And this is the direction they want to push there game into. A while ago they figured that lower to avrg players don’t like the ae and movement skill Bungie had to offer. Since then they have been readjusting there goal of lowering that skill and enabling team shooting ind less movement. This is accordingly to them the sort of destiny they can produce, aka with the most player retention aka more players more eververse purchases aka more money……. This is a quote from “merkules” one of there weapon balance guys; we will never have a movement or handcannon meta. What he means by this is the skill gape will never be bouncing your head as a hunter going for a fly by and hitting a 3 tap will no longer be the best way to play the game. Or hc will never again have a faster ttk the the other arctype accept scout rifles. To allaborate merkules may have spoken the words doenst mean he invented this. So please don’t copy and paste it might have been his boos or a vision someone else had at the time. The time he says this is was barely working at Bungie. This is btw also the reason why invs hunters are meta, invs makes it a ability to move around the map. And dodge makes it so you have a correction tool if you are out of place. This combination in a stale meta is just the simple awnser to the stale sandbox.
