Warlocks don’t really have many good options to boost melee damage besides Winter’s Guile and Spirit of Synthoceps (Prismatic). None of the subclasses have Aspects or anything that lets us really build around melee, especially with the changes coming to Glaive melee. Feels like Warlocks are kinda getting left out here.
I guess I should make this clear: the main concern is the change to Glaive melee. It's getting a significant nerf (40% against red bars, and 50% against bosses) to prevent Hunters and (especially) Titans from being able to stack insane melee damage boosts on them.
But this ultimately makes Glaives, at base, weaker than they currently are for Warlocks unless they're using Winter's Guile or Spirit of Synthoceps, since they have no Subclass abilities that boost your unpowered melee damage.
Edited by Zoidberg: 6/21/2025 4:57:00 PMPer the norm. Bungie hates warlocks. And they nerfed geo mag. The one thing halfway competitive to how insane prismatic consecration is.
-
Probably because warlocks arent a melee based class. If u want this playstyle play titan or hunter x)
-
30 second cooldown or less t3 str build distribution. No idea what you are going on about. warlock extremely strong right now
-
Thats it. Devs take a look a lightning surge. Its been hitting as hard as consecration since the buff.
-
Yeah it always sort of been like that. Hunters have barely anything to do with Grenades or in the current state barely any decent self sustain methods including no additional methods for restoration outside of sprites/healing grenade. They do have a couple of decent self sustains but just as with Warlocks melee, a couple. I personally find that despite being the “melee” class, Titans actually probably have the best balanced access to different gameplay loops. They have touch of thunder grenades, good support and amazing self sustain. TC for insane burst damage. And most notably storms keep, which has been an absolute success.

Warlock's have been left with just one exotic and no aspects that focus on Melee.
-
Class item with syntho/necrotic, Necrotic, Felwinters, Winters, Claws and Karstein.
-
the only good melee build of lock is getting buffed
-
Just wait for the class/grenade changes.
-
Warlocks aren't supposed to have a good melee. They're healers.
-
Do your thumbs not work to use weapons my guy. You strike me as an abilities, spammer. What do you think chat?

Edited by Chunk: 6/21/2025 2:06:54 PMPrismatic warlock, lightning surge, feed the void, arcane needle, cold snap, facet of courage and one two punch shotgun with inmost synthos class item, it is the largest known melee buff received in this next DLC If you want to use glaives on warlock put on Winters guile or necrotic or necrotic synthos. Strand grapple melee on all 3 could be the strongest but it depends if it stacks off of grenade, that's currently an unknown Hunters can't build into grenades there's always something a character is not good at

Edited by Graviton Lance: 6/21/2025 8:33:16 PMWarlocks aren’t the most melee centric class. Play Hunter or Titan if you want to have efficient and potent melee builds with numerous options.
-
not really lock have only 1 melee build and is getting buffed, grapple melee is getting buffed on all classes, and the meta titan and hunter melee builds are getting nerfed, bonk hammer is back in the menu
-
So do you think that melee shouldn't be reworked because it won't benefit 1/3 of the players as much as the rest?
-
...necro grips...I wonder if any of this will affect the poison...
-
You mean Liars Handshake is finally going to work?
-
Warlock will have one of the best melee builds post edge of fate. Maybe grapple melees on hunter might be better. Even right now, lightning surge only loses to consecration and even then, devour is a better healing verb than knockout.

Bungie: Ok. We will bring the Ram helm back. Warlocks: Yes! Bungie: Then in 6-12 months it will be nerfed.
