Bungie has nothing to show in the TWIDs because there is nothing in EoF

I'm honestly baffled that Bungie still hasn’t addressed our concerns or given any real answers about the massive sunsetting of Destiny 2 content that's coming.
What we’re seeing looks like a complete failure in Bungie’s management. They laid off hundreds of developers, and many of the ones -blam!- were reassigned to work on Marathon.
It’s painfully clear that Bungie has little to show for the upcoming Edge of Fate (EoF) expansion—simply because there haven’t been enough developers focused on it full-time.
Instead, they’ve implemented what feels like a deliberately grind-heavy system—an "evil hamster wheel"—to keep us busy without offering meaningful content. No new raids, no dungeons, no new subclass. Just the bare minimum. We only have six armor sets, and the Rite of the Nine event? That feels like a joke.
Now, with Marathon reportedly delayed, it’s likely even more Destiny 2 developers will be shifted away to help with that project. That’s not good news for us.
Be cautious about the upcoming Star Wars expansion. It looks like a trap—designed to generate massive revenue with minimal actual content. One flashy weapon type, likely a lightsaber, will be the centerpiece, probably locked behind a dungeon and buried in another exhausting grind.
Let’s be honest—we saw the writing on the wall when The Final Shape launched and Luke Smith left. That was the beginning of the end for D2. We just love the game too much to admit it.
It pains me to say this, but I’ve uninstalled the game and canceled my pre-order. Until Sony fully steps in and breathes life back into the franchise, I don’t see anything to be excited about for the next 6 to 12 months.

When streamers who have played the new expansion and are paid by Bungie to promote it, come out and say they are worried by how little content the new destination seems to offer, if that’s not a red flag I don’t know what is

4 RepliesJust like any crappy owner, they dont care because they are walking away with so much. They are just squeezing all they can out of it now before their failures lead to Sony fully taking over their Studio We see it a lot in sports too where owners don’t care as long as profit is profit. Rather than make changes that are positive for the fans they just look at it as another dime in their pocket, even if the franchise they own is horrible and the fans exhausted from the lack of success When money drives everything people start to write off morals in order to justify their means of income You right tho. They cannot produce any feasible content to show they because they too are exhausted. all in all that is a universal thing. When the management is money driven rather than creatively focused, when the writing is on the wall, everyone sort of flops. As in why work hard for someone when they are killing the company? Why stay? We did good giving them all that money… im ashamed of myself but it is done. One day someone who cares will take over and make it awesome for our kids to see and play. For now you are right, time to set up the memorial and move on to new IP . My hope lies in the microsoft CEO change from 2010! Look at Microsoft, they were in a lull for years. New CEO made big changes, some good, some eh, but he did not give up and he believed in the company so over years they found a way out of that lull. Conclusion: caring is actually pretty important and being kind and respectful goes a long way.

3 RepliesI mean I'd reserve judgment till the stream tomorrow and next week. The expansion is supposed to be kind of secretive and they don't want to give too much away which would make sense since they don't want to spoil w/e the big story thing is before its even released. Although, I personally don't really care if there isn't much in the expansion I'll just play what I enjoy then stop when there is no more content to play then play something else till Destiny gets a new hit of content.

From what I gather, the portal basically separates solo activities from team activities... but in all the gameplay footage I've seen, there hasnt been a single raid or dungeon on any of the lists in the portal. I'm worried about how they'll be accessed. Most raids are currently something like 1945-ish power level... but we've already seen that everyone will be reset to 10... and then you level up by selecting activities that are slightly higher than your own level, while also being "locked out" of the most difficult activities... so you need to work your way up *gradually* to a master/expert whatever... But what power level will the raid combatants be? Meaning, will I need to be at a certain power level in order to access a raid? This is something that worries me, as I dont wanna be forced to slog through a campaign or seasonal quests in order to access a raid... And if you think "there's only a small percentage of players who even do raids", then it'll be even smaller if there's a minimum light required to even launch them.

If Sony steps in, it won't be to breathe life into anything; it'll be to dismantle Bungie and move the resources/personnel to other projects.

Bungie isn't autonomous anymore. They're controlled now by Sony. There will be less content, as announced, for Destiny 2. It will be different. And Marathon is on hold. They closed studios over the last few months and cancelled IPs. That's how Sony breathes. Edit: Text correction

9 RepliesEdited by ben: 6/22/2025 10:52:53 PMI have no idea where the mass hysteria that the game is becoming so grindy is coming from. it has never been easier to get geared as they have added a million avenues to get the gear you want with minimal RNG and time investment and I imagine this will continue in edge of fate. Armour will definitely be easier to get and less grindy compared to now because of the way it will roll. If you think the game is too grindy i recommend taking a deep look at what you spend time grinding for and if it is worth your time. 99% of the loot you get in this game is insta dismantle trash so I theorize that the people who think it is "too grindy" think so because they are chasing the turbo double enhanced crafted shiny adept version of every single weapon. Which you do not need to do, at all. There is no new subclass but a new artifact and the ability changes will shake up gameplay completely and the sandbox will be unrecognizable. All content in the game is filler slop except for raids and dungeons which they have confirmed are coming, not sure where you got the idea otherwise. Thanks for letting us all know you cancelled your preorder. Not sure why you bought it in the first place if you were going to be swayed away by a bunch of nothing complaints.

He asks his guide what they're for, he tells him that heaven is personalised for you and he will see clocks with the hands representing popular games and how many are happily playing it. Bad games have hands going backwards. One clock with rapidly moving forward hands shows people playing Witcher 3. Another shows people playing Elden Ring as the hands spin round happily. The Cyberpunk one is a bit of a blur. Gamer looks and can't see one for Destiny 2. "Hey, where's the clock for Destiny 2. I want to know how Edge of Fate is going ??" Guy looks at him with a smirk. "That's in the kitchen. People are cancelling their pre orders so fast we use it as an extractor fan."

No new raid or dungeon? There's gonna be a new raid released the first week, a dungeon when renegades drops. They've been pretty good with the quantity of dungeon releases these last few years. I suppose a slow down would be beneficial for any fixes needed like TFS raid and dungeons. Hopefully they learned from everything they needed to not release half finished content.

If there’s concern that you won’t like it, don’t buy it until there’s more information on it. This isn’t a developer problem, it’s a lack of self control problem. I know because I’ve bought a lot of disappointing games for day one in my life. The soft sunsetting thing I don’t think will be as bad as it’s make out to be. Maybe it will be, but we don’t have enough info on things other than people’s opinions. Historically in this game there’s very few reasons to grind out anything because the differences in weapons are fairly marginal. Unless it’s for a DPS meta outlier in PvE or the latest PvP crutchy weapon, people will be fine not doing things they don’t want to do just because somebody on the internet says “this is the god roll you have to go for”. I’d like to see the expansion be great and something I want to buy and play, but I’m willing to wait until release to find out.

As little as they've shown, they definitely confirmed there will be a new Raid and Dungeon. Yes, they haven't talked about it, but they always keep Raid and Dungeon information close to their chest. That's nothing new.
