This is my opinion. Over delivery guy at the helm will make me hit the pause button for the next season. I I feel they really messed up their game with the new changes. They are making all the weapons you love not as useful in the next expansion. I feel this is a huge mistake. This will have a negative effect and will push players away from this season. I do not understand why Bungie continues to push the boundaries in a negative way.
-
I'm not buying it. There are a few games that are coming out that have peeked my interest.
-
I don’t think Bungie is going to get any of my money this time, I feel it’s all going to go for that shite-show mAratHoN. And I’m not going to support that blatant WOKE TRASH. Yeah I know Destiny is riddled with woke/dei garbage, but mArAtHoN is obvious, no one wants it, no one likes it, and if people did want it, the products they make would be successful, they are in fact not. So…I’m still really debating whether or not to even spend my time…maybe I’ll wait a year, maybe not at all.
-
I do not understand why Bungie continues to push the boundaries in a negative way.
I honestly do not think they are doing it on purpose. It seems to me that the majority of the workforce are no longer there, and the people working on the tail end of Destiny haven't got a clue about the original game. It's like a workforce of construction workers trying to run a hospital when all the doctors, nurses and surgeons have left.

Nothing wrong with withholding your money until reviews come in.
-
We scientists have a mathematical term for things like EoF: Cluster F--- Scientists also demand proof - just wait a month. Hoping to be wrong but not spending a penny to find out. It's time streamers pay the price for us!
-
Agreed. I just canceled my pre order. First time ever in the last couple of years. There’s a lot of better games out right now.
-
Nope im good. Another turret support exoitc and no revamp to voidwalker. Im good.
-
If you’re uncomfortable with the direction the franchise seems to be going, don’t have confidence in the new leadership and/or studio, don’t like the changes and sunsetting coming, not very interested in the new story, or have just been not feeling Destiny lately - just hold off or cancel your pre order until EoF has been out for a few weeks and you can read reviews and see how the new leadership is treating the game and the community. You don’t owe Bungie anything. Don’t feel pressured to pre-order if you’re uncomfortable. Everything EoF has to offer will still be there a month after 07/15 and the LFG sites and Sherpa forums will still be jammed up with people looking to play with you.

I think I'm gonna identify as "Non-BUY'nary" this go around with this expansion. Fool me once.....I can't see myself paying for this.
-
I'm also thinking about not to buy. I'll stay probably only free to play for just some pvp
-
Just Sayin..... The Taken King added 4 Strikes, 9 Crucible maps, 33 Exotics a RAID and a new destination Feels like the Great Destiny Content Depression Also......More Vault Space and Devs please let us delete multiples of things in our inventory deleting each item that you hold 999 of one by one with a hold down function is insane.

Im not buying a single thing from these crooks until they can at least make my damn bullets register.

There will need to be a hell of a lot of dust settle before I give them any more of my money. Besides it being a total disrespect of my thousands of hours grinding God Roll weapons and armour, there is nothing exciting or new.. -
Edited by HODGYL33DS: 6/25/2025 6:10:14 PMOr you can just suck it up and realise it's just another lazy, uninspired, reskinned cash grab from this lazy company! All the loot you've paid for.... yeah it's trash now, all the loot you're paying them again for now ( reskins ) will be dead every 6 month and then you'll be playing to accumulate armour just to do that again every 6 month!! Parsons has to go, ex employee's have all said he's a massive detriment to the game and whether you believe these devs can put out anything better than the absolute pony we've seen for years the fact is parsons is undeniably the catalyst to it all. I watched maybe 15 minutes of that stream yesterday and I honestly don't know what they thought they were doing to build hype etc but standing in a shooting range looking like some mumbling drones didn't really do much for me lol! Guarantee these forums are filled with discontent in the weeks ahead and I can't wait to see the playerbase no's but I'd wager a decent wedge of money they ain't great. Sony must be raging with the billions they threw away buying this company aswell 😆 🤣

At this point it’s time to sit back and watch bungie burn in the bed they’ve made for themselves. All the good devs are gone destiny when immediately down hill when they started the dei hiring and gayed everything up.

I always buy the annual pass so I’ll let you know!
-
I worry that when it “settles” there will be a kind of wasteland left that isn’t worth entering.
-
Just turned off the latest developer live stream. First time I have done that. It was sooo bad I couldn't watch any more. They hav absolutely nothing in store for this game
-
I finally took a peek at the first mission on Kepler... Damn if didn't look like Io with more texture... And, then they were on titan' s rigs with different paint... !?!? What is going on @bungie!?!? The new destination didn't look new. Liked the flying units tho, ...and that skybox!

Edited by Mark, Scholar of Stars: 6/25/2025 8:35:53 PM‘Destiny 2’ Players Hate Edge Of Fate’s ‘New Gear’ Grind Plan 'Bungie is instituting a system where you will get a stacking damage-resist bonus over time by using New Gear armor sets and then also getting higher tiers of those new armor sets. In a given stretch of time [...] if you get a full set of Tier 5 armor, that will equal a significant 15% damage reduction. Lower tiers, still of New Gear armor, will offer less than that. Non-New Gear armor gives you nothing. The problem becomes that this will then “expire.” There will be new, New Gear armor after 6 [...] months, and you’ll have to do it again, not only getting Tier 5 New Gear armor, but also playing Jenga with the new stat system that requires a lot more finagling than before to get a good build. It seems to be an attempt to get players to grind armor in a way they haven’t for a while, but it feels more like a penalty than a bonus if you’re not doing it. Some players may downplay the damage reduction as not that big of a deal, but it at least feels bad that you’re grinding out sets that will be fundamentally worse in a few months. The weapon concept is similar, and while it’s perhaps not as bad, it’s more complicated.' That's from the article linked above. Edit: To be honest, I thought Armor 3.0 would be like an optimization and simplification. I never thought that it would be a complete "break" with the current system and a significant new effort.
-
They'll most likely wait a year or so until Datto tells everyone to delete their favourite godroll and then introduce a way to infuse the old weapons into the tier system.
-
Yeah, i’m honestly looking to take it once the plaguelands come back… if Bungie is still there.
-
It's hard to be excited with this expansion. The red flags are, Creators aren't even hyping anything.
-
Edited by TripleF73: 6/24/2025 11:04:42 PMIn my opinion this DLC is not for me. Nothing I’ve seen in this livestream has changed my mind. Since I’ve already cancelled my preorder, I’m going to wait and see. I would imagine, with this much change in the game, it’s going to be an utter clusterf**k anyway if the implementation of any of the previous DLC’s or episode launches are anything to go by. That’s even if I was hyped for any of what I’ve seen. Which I’m most certainly not.
-
Since all that has been shown from the actual 'expansion' are system changes; Weapons, Armour, Power level etc., etc. It is likely better to not buy in on day one. Everybody gets the system changes, regardless of if they buy EOF or not. If you can't get on board with the new system changes, is it worth throwing any more money at it?
-
They are making all the weapons you love not as useful in the next expansion.
I doubt that. Because it would be completely counterproductive. What bothers me is that they want you to obtain new armor every six months. But honestly, I can't imagine that will be mandatory too, except, maybe, for very specific content. However, just wait a little until after the release to see how this is going. That's what I do. I like what I've seen so far, except for what I know about the armor reset on a six-month basis.
