Money, why would any player invest another 10 years of their life to destiny? The higher ups know this. No point in making D3 when the current one works. Not to mention the devs would have to make a brand new bash of content including armor and weapons. Bungie is restricted when it gets to creativity and everything cost money, not to mention licenses and copyright issues. If bungie was to make a D3, it would take a considerable effort for the community to come together and ask for it. Player count would gave to skyrocket for the higher ups to even consider it. Thats just not something I see happening

"why not just jump into the fire?" Says the man in the frying pan.

Current Bungle Studio folks would ruin that too. Major “skill issue” there right now!!

What would change exactly?

Explain to me what D3 is going to add or do differently from D2. Explain what they can add that isn't recycled, so people can't cry about old content etc, and will actually mkae sense gameplay and lore wise. Making a brand new game isn't going to magically solve every issue you think D2 has. Even bungie is smart enough to know and understand that. Your turn.

Time, money and effort. Bungie decided they would be better put into Marathon and the other projects that got canned. From what I’ve seen of Marathon it doesn’t look like the wisest of decisions. -
Because they viewed as a risk. Players would review bomb it before it would even be released. It would take them 4-5 years to make it regardless.
