I bet I know a reason, but I want to know THE reason. We work our tails off to get these weapons. We basically torture ourselves going through ultimatum difficulty to grind for the adept versions of said weapons. (Yes, we can grind for them in easier sections of the dungeons, but that's beside the point.) The reskins and rerolls on the weapons are great. But all of this work just for you to make them obsolete a little over a month later? WHY?
