Sunsetting
I sure hope Bungie is not trying to sunset gear again especially when they said they would never do that again! We dump hours into obtaining this gear and for you to go and make it useless is basically a spit in the face to my time and money! I’ve been playing since 2014 and if this is the path you guys start taking than myself and all my friends playing have agreed on dumping this game!

8 RepliesEdited by Chunk: 6/29/2025 11:43:36 AMThis isn't sun setting, you can use all of your old gear it's just not as good as the newer stuff, this is power creep, without bungie actually making new stuff because the power creep is part of the artifact.. The weapon crap is fine nobody cares it's already in the artifact in the form of the origin traits, It'd be the subjugator one and the one for the raid weapons this season.. The Dr on the armor is BS that just turns the game into an arpg where you're always going after New gear every 6 months to maintain your 15% Dr Every exotic should always be usable at any time and should always have the 10% weapon damage and should always have the 3% Dr per piece slot. If Bungie wants you to grind new armor every 6 months they should put out new armor bonus piece sets every 6 months to grind

This company" Code of Conduct Im so glad i kicked this horrible company to the curb 6 months ago!!!!! I told him Bungie was nothing more than a Shady milk machine but he didn't listen.

1 ReplyPersonally, I wouldn't call it sunsetting, but it looks like a penalty to me to not use current DLC gear. A "penalty" because of the temporary plus 10% damage and plus 15% damage reduction bonus it provides on a six-month basis.

You can’t give players power and then let them hold onto it forever. There is literally nothing to chase right now because nothing in the game is as interesting or powerful as the stuff already in your vault. Do they is no incentive or reward from playing… When Bungie caved on sunsetting the first time…and this place was celebrating and laughing..I said that players had won the battle over sunsetting, but did realize they had lost the war over fun, interesting loot to chase. I said the problems that you need sunsetting to fix (power creep, loot relevance) hadn’t been solved and we’d be right back here in about two years…. …and here we are. Again. ….and we will keep circling [b]back[/b] here every 18-24 months until we let Bungie do what they need to do to make the game sustainable.

This new item has 6% more damage than my current weapon and Bungie has a gun to my head telling me I have to use it!!!!" The reality is that you can keep using the stuff you like it really doesn't matter. If you are trying to min/max your damage then this would be a non-issue for you as you'll just use whatever is the most effective anyway, but if you don't care about that then you won't care about a 6-8% damage increase.

7 RepliesI dint think high level armor will be as easily allocated as some might think. My current armor will be the play until I level enough to chase new stuff worth using.

7 RepliesSo they shouldjust never improve systems or make armor that's better than what you have because then it'll make what you have useless, I guess. That's good and healthy for the game. Nice!
