I am tired of the haters. Everything I read, see, hear, it's just crapping on the game. I have stopped reading it all. In 2 weeks we get basically Destiny 3, which is what everyone wants, but I guess not really? Just complaint after complaint. I, for one, am really looking forward to the new release. I cannot wait. Its gonna be great! I do believe that people rag just because they think it's cool to be a jerk. Tired of the haters. Bring it on, Bungie, I am so ready for the Edge of Fate. Oh, and hot take, I cannot wait for Renegades, wielding a light saber is just awesome!
BTW, I have >4000 hours in the game, I am a die hard fan

Sure, if you call regrinding the same content we’ve been playing since 2017 Destiny 3...

"Basically D3" Brother lay off the copium! If it was D3 we'd be getting the following: brand new engine built from the ground up, dedicated servers, multiple new subclasses, multiple new planets (You can't even launch Keplar as a destination btw), multiple new enemy types, multiple exotic armor pieces per class, a whole slew of new weapons (Not reskins of the ones we currently have), multiple new strikes and PvP maps, multiple new activities etc EoF is D2.5. One new system change that nobody asked for and you'll be grinding the same activities that have been in the game for years.
In 2 weeks we get basically Destiny 3,
Minus servers, better graphics, dropping last gen consoles, a fresh influx player base, better systems (clans, vault) I enjoy D2, I don't think EoF will be great - just mediocre (bar the raid). But this DLC is a far cry from D3.

Edited by neonsox42: 6/30/2025 4:46:29 AMThere’s criticism and there’s hate. This place has a ton of hate - it always has but since Lightfall a lot of the more good-faith actors and positive influences have just moved on. Bungie themselves have largely moved on to places like Reddit. EoF is more of a D2.5 -I don’t think this is a problem. I think EoF is suffering from improper management and a lack of faith that mismanagement has inspired in the community. Witch Queen and Lightfall set the seasonal content output so high that Final Shape couldn’t deliver following the layoffs the poor management caused. And that enthusiasm drain has hurt the game. My guess is that EoF will have higher numbers than current prediction, but I think it will still be markedly lower than Final Shape. And I think in wake of Marathon’s less than stellar showing D2 has a future - but there’s going to be some growing pains before we see any real results. Bungie has yet to truly fail (buisness wise) but I think EoF is going to be that wake up call

Bungie the one who's gives them a reason to complain
-
I see it as 2 sides of the same coin, it can feel exhausting seeing so much criticism all the time, especially when you’re genuinely excited and invested in the game. That said, I think a lot of the complaints come from players who care deeply — they’ve invested years, and when things don’t land, it hits hard. It’s less about hating the game and more about wanting it to reach its full potential. There’s definitely some preformative negativity out there, but there’s also valuable feedback that helps Bungie improve. Personally, I've not been hyped for anything in D2 since playing D1 and waiting for the D2 collectors edition release, but I also appreciate that some folks are using criticism to push the game forward. Passion shows up in different forms.

I hope you enjoy what's in store & I feel ya with the angry buzz around.. for sure. But this will NOT be Destiny 3. That's a massive reach.
-
I saw a post from Mactics on YT addressing the same topic, the negativity surrounding the next release of Bungie. It’s a fair point, it’s true not all the negativity we see is warranted and some people are just waiting for an opportunity to jump on the hate wagon. But, I also saw a lot of legitimate complaints about the extension, and constructive feedback. So let’s not paint with too wide of a brush either way.

Destiny 3 would bring dedicated servers…
-
Edited by The Hermit IX: 6/28/2025 5:43:30 PMIt’s really unfortunate. The lie about it. They flat out lie and twist your words like I’ve never seen before. They lie. Really sad. They’re very angry people I haven’t seen such misplaced hatred in a long time. People see it for what it is. They need to get out. They need to touch grass. They need to recognize they’re living in a state of the art world and it’s a really beautiful world. The best world in a very long time. Everyone is talking about it. It’s considered the best world in a very long time. They talk about how great it is.

People are upset because it's not even close to a d3 and for other reasons of course. A true d3 could fix a lot of the bugs, bloat, and could bring dedicated servers like marathon potentially. Instead, EoF is essentially turning up the grind x10, making old gear almost useless, and as of now doesn't seem to be actually adding a ton of content.
-
because this game has been declining in quality throughout the years and bungie is the one who set up their own community against them.
-
IF we would get Destiny 3, the game would run on a modern engine and would have 100% dedicated servers with 0% peer-to-peer. In Destiny 3 we would get ALL new maps and a new Campaign.
-
I love the game too but i dont share this same optimism. Im reserving my judgements for the time being. Not all of the "hate" is the same. Theres plenty of people that have given constructive feedback on what's to come. You cant lump the adults in with the crybabies.
-
Careful now, rebel scum will call you a bungo apologist, a fanboy, basically you're issue according to them How dare you enjoy something they don't
-
Edited by DuplexGorilla53: 6/28/2025 1:48:54 PMDestiny 3. Brother you are exactly the player they are counting on. Oh and for the record I hope you are right.
-
In 2 weeks we get basically Destiny 3, which is what everyone wants, but I guess not really?
Edge of Fate won't be anything close a new game, but the community would whine if Bungie made a Destiny 3 anyway.
-
The problem is that they are getting D3 at the expense of D2. If Bungle had launched EoF as a separate entity - allowing D2 to continue as is - people may have been more willing to give it a chance.
