Do you want better guns?
-Yes, but that will make our old guns useless.
OK, so you DON'T want new guns?
-No, we want better guns!
OK, we'll make better guns
-Great, but that will make the guns we have now worthless!
OK, so we make all new guns equal to the guns you have now
- No! You're not listening, we want BETTER guns!
OK, we'll make tier 5 guns, they'll be better than what you use now
- No! Because the guns we have now.....
I'm confused!
Better guns, yes or no?
We want guns that are better than what we have now, AND, we want all old guns to be just as good as the new ones!

How is that possible?

Nothing can be better. Lateral or worse. It’s the irrational fear of power creep that people have. Every season the new weapons should be a percentage stronger than the last season. 15% across the board for EoF. Then 15% more for renegades. Quit shielding old content from getting blitzed like it should. This would open up old content to a lot of people too. That’s an incentive to get new gear. Design new content around the new power. Old gear will still be functional for a bit, (a lot of us ignore current activity surges and make it through all the same) but people will eventually find something they like more that can replace it. It would also free up Bungie staff to work on something more entertaining than balancing old stuff a lot of us don’t play anymore.
