Bungie: But the power of friendship

Edited by JazzyPaladin477: 7/2/2025 9:36:08 PMThis system is the elitists dream

It kills me that the people trying to play the "you just want to be carried" card are the same people that are always getting carried. I mentioned this before in a similar thread, but Bungie clearly just doesn't want people "skipping grind." I think the scaling system is an admission that there probably aren't enough players to support a Tier Lockout system, but they don't want anyone able to skip over tiers because the Almighty Hamster Wheel drives everything in this game. Maybe if Bungie made the content actually fun to do on repeat, it wouldn't be so bad. Oh well... a player can dream, I suppose.

Edited by Candy: 7/2/2025 11:39:56 PMAll the people saying “ so you can get carried “? It is the EXACT system we have now. Almost universally praised. Praised by streamers so they can carry and praised by anyone that has ever wanted to run content with a friend that didnt have 20 hours to grind before going in. Huge seller of the final shape. Yall are actually smoking crack caring about Tiers and gate keeping mid loot that much. We have had it for months.

bungie doesn't want to let anyone get boosted for a shorter grind

Jet Set Willy
The heck are you on about ? No way, bro! - old
At least Bungie have placed all of their cards on the table. The new systems are clear to everyone in advance of the Edge of Fate release. Anyone buying it or intending to play after release knows exactly what’s in store. -
100% agree… the lockout is crazy

For me there would be no incentive to play a tier 4 to recieve tier 2 weapons.

Edited by SkinlessGorgon: 7/3/2025 7:32:52 AMI would tend to agree that scaling rewards to activity difficulty would potentially have the following negative effects : Punishes Cooperation: Lower-tier players feel punished for helping friends with higher tier or pushing themselves. Encourages Segregation: Higher-tier players may be forced to exclude lower-tier friends to avoid diluting efficiency. Stifles Progression: If players can’t get meaningful rewards from harder content, they have no reason to learn or grow. Feels Unfair: If two people complete the same challenge, both expect fair compensation. Basicaly expect LFG to be toxic by design Edit: We're back to forever 29 trying to get a hard mode vault of glass LFG spot

Damn right dude!
-
true, i should get carried and get full reward

Edited by xbroggiex: 7/3/2025 12:01:19 PMIf this is about something like being able to get T4 loot without being high enough level to access the difficulty I agree you should get Tier 4 rewards, although it would be better to just not let you use them items until you reach a certain power requirement rather than just outright not granting you T4 loot. Would be the same as other games where you go to a high level zone and get some loot you can still get that high level loot to drop but you cannot use it until you reach a certain level requirement.

Nope, it's going to completely destroy the 'paid carry' business and ruin all of those content creator 'carry streams', alienating the last real support this game has, so I'm all for it. No sense in drawing out the death of this game - let's end its misery quickly!

At the very least 3

I would be all in for that kind of challenge, but not on a repeating basis of six months.
-
You think it's fair that you get to piggyback and freeload off of someone who actually leveled up to even access that tier 4 activity? Lol
-
-
I’m more concerned that they want us running old activities from 5 years ago in a “new” expansion…
