Pre-orders are down and the content creators aren't able to understand why. The true reason will need to Be addressed eventually. The answer is tiered gear. The topic that is being pushed, repeated, and sold as the next best thing in D2. Guess what? Most people don't relate because this reward system is for the content creators, streamers, elite players. And it is great for them, but unfortunately I believe that most players are left saying ok what do I have to look forward to?

Tiered gear requiring masses of grind is not good.. will kill the game…
-
Exactly !! Content Creators demanded bungie go this route, now they about to FO FAFO

The main argument being made is don't worry you don't need higher tiered gear or your average because you can't handle higher difficulty content. Ok sure. Tier 5 weapons are only marginally better. Ok sure. Then the forum trolls say: quit whining you don't deserve the best gear if you cant beat the ultimate maximum insanity crazy hardcore difficulty. Ok sure. Once again what are we supposed to be getting excited about again? So there will be new weapons, ok just like every expansion. They will have quality levels you'll never get because get gud. Ok I see. New armor tiers and perks and traits and stuff. Ok yah that's cool. Not sure if it's really all that fun regrinding my exotics and high stat armor but ok. So what else?

Now please prove the tiered gear is the reason for that.

It is simple to fix.. they should make it like Diablo armour you use currency to master work armour this tier shite should be fkd out. Make it so that players can do activities with normal armour like raids dungeons etc. Then make the game easier with the better armour weapons etc. Fights with enemies need to change new ways to kill then or start to damage them. Such as 2 elements need to hit it to break a shield or whatever some changes would be great. The armour is the main reason I have not got the new DLC as I can not be bothered grinding its a pain and not fun to be honest but the sweats will love it so good for them. When you do not have the time as real life work kids friends etc it is hard to play a game that needs so much time. Sad but we will see what players say anyway.

I think tiered gear is fine, it honestly doesn’t bother me and yea it gives players a reason to finally grind for tier 5 weapons. What bothers me personally is the lack of incentive. The expansion itself looks bland with content, the stat changes are horrible for pvp. Like who the heck is not going to max out their weapon stat? Bungie also failed to bring in more power to the player in terms of abilities. At the end of the day, we are playing with space magic, people want to use new abilities and find new perks to make builds. When they promoted the edge expansion, all I saw was just more destiny. Nothing new or worth the hype. Just stat changes and quality of life changes which is meh.

the problem is that baby zombie player base is asking to get max tier gear at 200 power level, end game should reward better gear simple as that

How horrible of them to reward player based on hat they complete!? Yeah, how dare they have versions of the guns with slightly higher stats and a cosmetic wrap on them drop from hard content.

You realize we've had tiered gear for a while now right? it's just not labeled. yes new T4 and T5 will have enhanced barrels/mags/mods - whats the problem?
