If I'm reading the news post correctly...Any one with T5 gear will have a substantial advantage over anyone else...it's going to create a new level of toxic elitism and pressure to perform and hard gatekeeping in LFG and clans
Carrying services will be booming...
And that's not even including the PVP problem of the same gun having wildly different stats and capabilities...if you don't have T5 you will just get out played regardless as your opponent will have all tactical advantages through gear alone...so...any bets on when the hard nerf post launch is?
-
T5 isn't going to be as much of a game changer as you think it will be. Also if someone with an extra 5 stability on their gun in PvP is dropping you... I hate to tell you, it's not the T5 weapon. Lol.

It’s going to be a disaster.

Three months in it’ll be “Whoopsie doopsie doo. We realise that things aren’t going in the direction we had hoped. As a result we’re upgrading everyone’s gear to Tier 5! And adding Tiers 6 - 10. Also, we have a development that we know you’ll be as excited about as us. It’s been difficult keeping this amazing news under wraps but it’s time to share - keep an eye on Eververse for the all new Tier upgrade packages arriving soon”. -

They have not shared much in the Pvp department. Also paid carrying services are not prohibited per bungie’s rules. If you’re mad guess what, don’t play it’s that simple. Also maybe just grind to T5 gear and HELP others, like your post makes no sense. -
I wouldn't be surprised if Bungie starts a carrying service themselves. They already pay the content creators. I also think that having tier 5 won't really matter much in PvP as much as the stat changes. That is if you match players that aren't cheating. The cheating in PvP makes all of this moot.

How do you propose they should go about it? If T5 does not set you apart because are simply a much better player then what would be the point of having them?

Edited by Guardian0907: 7/5/2025 12:27:26 AMI'll be quitting at that point.

The crucible will be completely broken now 😂😂😂
-
This is kinda how other mmos actually operate. You do the hardest stuff for gear that is better than everyone else.
-
I am guessing it will take a long time for players to grind out a full set of T5 gear with stats in the right place so it may be some time before we see this play out in pvp.

Correct

On the same maps I remind you

My only worries are: - PvP is going to be a cheesy mess for a few weeks. - Did they balance endgame PvE around having tier 5 armor and the max damage reduction?

Edited by Kiro - 13: 7/4/2025 7:24:30 AMIts not going to be, as Bungie acknowledged in the TWID they did no play testing. https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/Article/twid_07_03_2025 Regarding PvP "For those of you looking for PvP tuning numbers, we’re aware of the math in terms of balancing around fixed health values and the new weapon stat damage bonuses. We have our finger on the trigger, and are aimed at a number of targets, but we want to make sure the weapons and perks we choose to tune actually become balance issues, instead of preemptively nerfing a bunch of builds or playstyles before you are even able to try them out. Once it is known how realistic it is to achieve certain stat combos, and what tradeoffs those stat splits enforce, we’ll have a more complete picture to determine how problematic these builds actually are in the Crucible. We’ll be watching and gathering your feedback, and we are standing by ready to adjust as necessary in near future updates." Further more this is a known issue as many people including myself have been vocal about this. Got the receipts to prove it as well. Crazy how some members of the community have more foresight then the developers. Just to let ya all know how its going to play out. The weapon stat's bonus damage will be disabled in PvP after 2-4 months.
-
Max out weapon stat for damage and max out health for obvious reasons. Any other stat for pvp is meaningless. Bungie just made these stats mandatory or you risk being at a massive disadvantage. Being able to modify your damage in pvp is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in a video game. It’s like having stopping power in COD, you need to have it on at all times or you lose every encounter.
-
On top of that you get a 6% damage boost on every weapon in pvp just for 200 weapon stat. Ttk shifts from 0.8 to 0.6 or even 0.5 for several long range options without the need of a damage perk. That in addition to only 60 recovery with no way to build into it will lead to even slower game play reminiscent of 17th century firing lines. I can't wait /s Lobby balancing is already completely screwed anyways. Hardly any close matches and I don't blame anyone for leaving the laggy mess lobby balancing cobbles together these days. I just gave up trying to play, closed the game and canceled my pre-order. Only got it to play with friends in the 1st place but the game is just too bad and the upcoming grind is not enticing at all imo.

Edited by Meow Fairy: 7/4/2025 1:50:41 AMok sooo you are made that players with better loot will have more "power" than people with low tiers gear.... in a loot based game... what in the world is destiny for you ? overwatch ? that is litteraly NORMAL and LOGICAL to have endgame players having better gear than others lmao, or else why bother farming and grinding for gear if you are as strong with your "legendary armor forged by the hive gods when hte planets were aligned."... as you are strong with "the armor covered in dirt you found in a trashcan in the EDZ" ? as for the whole "it will create elitism and wah wah wah" these kind of players are, and were always a minority you could easily avoid. also pvp wise, the minor upgrades they will get wont suddenly turn them into gods, insta wining every duels etc....it will make a difference at similar skill in a perfectly fair matchup...but in that case if both players have the same skill it also means they are both capable of getting this new "powerfull" gear. (and in the cases of "the richer gets richer etc...i mean...even if the low skilled player had goated guns, they would still lose duels against a good player with blue gear so its kinda irrevelant)

is called rewarding players that play end game unlike the last 5 years
