That devils ruin change is awful.
No more holster mods to keep a beam always ready in the back pocket.
The exotic perk, AKA the reason we want to use the exotic, will have less uptime.
They're taking away its identity as a pocket special and making it YET ANOTHER ad clear exotic that's going to be both more inconvenient, and less potent than sunshot.
Please don't make us pick up a firesprite to use the laser, that's genuinely an awful change.
After thinking about it more. I am still dissatisfied with the rework, but have a better idea for a change than my original one. I'm going to keep the original in the spoiler and repost my idea from another thread[spoiler]Keep the fire on release behavior and let us fire the beam whenever we want.
The buff for the gun I'd actually like to see is. Sustained damage scorches targets. Kills with this weapon scorch nearby targets.
And for a catalyst, give the gun rewind rounds.[/spoiler]

Hip fire = beam
Aim = sidearm
They want to make it into the firesprite/ignition weapon? Sure sounds cool, make kills create firesprites and make picking up a firesprite give a buff to make the next beam scorch on hit and ignite on kill.
Problem solved. No more janky fire behavior. Beam has the same uptime and versatility that it does now. And it gets firesprites and ignitions so that it's less one trick.
Even if the rework does make the gun stronger. It's still a bad rework because it could have been done in a way that preserved the current fantasy of the gun.[/quote]
