Alternative idea for this weapon would have been hip fire for laser, regular fire aim down sights. Fire sprite buffs laser to new effect with scorch and ignition. I dont really use the sidearm solely because of the release fire instead of press, doing something like this suggestion would buff for pve like they want but also increase the feel of the gun for pvp for the majority of players. Edit: After reading another post I saw this was already suggested by another commenter, thats how obvious this is.
