Salvation’s Grip feels too punishing up close

I really like the design of Salvation’s Grip as a freeze tool and crowd control /single target restraint weapon, but it feels way too punishing to use in close quarters. If you’re being rushed, say by Taken Thrall, the grenades can bounce off enemies and explode on you, instantly killing you. It makes trying to use the weapon reactively or defensively really frustrating. What makes it worse is that this feels kind of counterintuitive for Stasis builds that are built around close-range crystal shattering. The catalyst literally gives frost amor after shattering crystals, encouraging you to use it aggressively in tight situations, but doing so often just results in killing yourself. I think slightly reducing the self-damage, not removing it entirely, just tuning it down a bit would make a big difference. It’d help it feel more usable and better aligned with the playstyle it’s meant to support. Thanks for reading and stop nerfing things nobody asked for!😌😂

Le Reinforcements have arrived… - old

Used Salvation’s Grip a few months ago on a Stasis Titan. Always kept enemies at a mid range when using the GL, never let em get close. Never killed myself with my own explosion…provided I wasn’t shooting things that just liked exploding. The only GL that is somewhat meant to be used at a close range is Parasite, and that’s just for the one shot to trigger the self-damage perk.
