Specifically for raids: I think the MOST important things are:
1. Adding tags for specific goals (more specific than there are now)
Right now you can only mark a post as like "earn catalyst", "starting from 1st encounter" and other very generic tags (forgive me I don't have the game open right in front of me).
These should be replaced with or supplemented by some activity specific tags like "At Daughters of Oryx (4th encounter)" and maybe also include more specific roles than just class names. Like "Need healer" or "need mechanics" for people who maybe don't know the encounter.
2. Tags should auto-complete when filling a slot mid-raid
Basically every other time I wade into LFG for fun, people quit mid-raid. It happens for any number of reasons, but when it does, the leader often makes another post OR doesn't clear the existing post. People join, expecting a fresh raid, and are surprised to get a fireteam invite and suddenly be at Warpriest.
Have the fireteam finder pre-fill encounter names / encounter numbers and mark it as a raid in progress or even that you're filling a spot.
Or better yet: don't get rid of the legacy fireteam finder until you can build proper moderation mechanisms that would allow players to enter in free-form text like they currently can on the legacy version.
There's no reality where clicking through menus is faster than just typing what you're wanting and choosing a general category like "Vault of Glass".
